Even though there is a meeting this week to discuss the fly-in cameo players, there has been talk that Alan Didak has contacted Glenorchy President John McCann about playing for the Pies. Chris Tarrant has also expressed interest to play for the side again this season.

Though the problem will be how the TSL Presidents vote this week on the fly-in players surely they won't vote against the potential gate they'll get from this...

Oh yeah? I hadn't heard that just yet but wouldn't be surprised I think the TSL should allow them to play in the league it's adding more to the league then taking away.

I think Kouta is playing down here again as well, not sure with who or when I will keep an eye out as I am working as the Tasmanian football reporter at Bound for Glory News now. Smile

Be good for two Pies legends to be back in the black and white jumper again, albeit for Glenorchy Magpies. They just can't stay away from the jumper... Wink

You can't blame them for wanting to play for such a great club, shows our Collingwood boys have good taste in Tassie clubs.. Wink

It also helps the club gain more of a presence into the state something they wanted to start doing with more events, etc.

Well that's right, some clubs are struggling for numbers, and cash. It would be sad to see clubs start to die off again.

Both are in discussions with Doncaster with BJ trying to get them there. They have the $$$ to match any offer.

Any appearance of Tarrant and Didak would be a cameo appearance only, Tarrant played two games in Tasmania and got 20k for that from Glenorchy and North Launceston.

Be interesting, I wouldn't spend the $$ on them. You can't hide at local level as the grounds are too small and you will get tackled and crunched. Tarrant struggled at VFL level, he won't like the close attention of local football.

He did alright for both Glenorchy and North Launceston, I think because the TSL is a few steps below the VFL.

Football is their trade. If a club is willing to pay them X amount of dollars to play for them, how is that any different to the way we do things? Fair game son, fair game.

With the state of Tasmanian footy atm, I think it's not a bad thing. Might be for some leagues, but getting some big crowds into the footy this season is what the league needs.
