Hard grind at the office for both teams. Looks slow and dry could have been mistaken for thinking they were playing this in India. This wicket will take spin, SA could be made to pay for dropping Peterson for the extra seamer and relying on Duminy to do the spin bowling.

Hopefully we can get out de Villiers soon and they don't get away tonight and then make sure our batsmen are patient and get some runs first up on a deck that is only going to get harder to bat on.

Australia have been in trouble in every first innings for the past 7 tests that might be compounded if SA make a decent score and the top order struggles again.

Another shonky start but this time its come after the opposition have made runs in their first innings.

The disappointing thing is after 6 bad starts and being saved by bowlers and lower order last night was the time to grind like SA did the day before but it didn't happen. Hopefully Warner pushes on and Smith and Haddin save our arses again.

You would assume we would concede some sort of lead it will then be up to Smith to decide whether he has the balls to risk losing (not the SA way) by setting a target maybe around 400 but giving his team enough time to bowl aussies out or completely bat Aussies out of the game by setting 500+ but risking a draw and not being able to win the series.
