Yes, the body is getting a bit weary this morning. Just went out to water the pot plants and the sun is really wicked. The problem of course is that we are not used to this weather and don't ever really get a chance to acclimatise to it. When I lived in the middle east every day was 45+ for 6 months or so. Everything was air conditioned and all apartments had air conditioning built in. The body quickly adapted until the mercury topped 50 and then being outside was like breathing fire. Hong Kong on the other hand was much worse; 32 degrees every day with very high humidity - an awful discomfort. Give me Melbourne's weather any day; it may not be much, but at least it isn't as bad as Tasmania's.

I work in 45+ every day for a few months of the year then run 8 - 10k after my 12 hr shift. It's all in the mind... tell yourself it's a lovely 35 degrees and you cruise through it Cool

Yep just finished work for the week, house is all clean, nothing to do but list a few things on eBay, and enjoy the sun! I'm loving it!

  • 3.14159. Fair condition, a few scratches. Free to good home.
  • Nick Pie Man. High-strung, needs a firm hand on the bit, but rides well. Getting good marks in obedience school. Could be a bargain for the right owner.
  • Morrigu. Well-used but sweet temperament and good with children. Must sell, cannot afford the vet bills.
  • Think Positive. An active, high-maintenance pet, generally safe with children but can snap. For the serious collector only.
  • Swoop42. Well proportioned, good runner, spelling a problem but comes with own brain. Call for latest pricing.
  • Stui Magpie. One owner, some scratches, needs repair but still working. As-is, no warranty. Make an offer.

Hahaha! What about yourself Tannin? Come on now!

That's really cool!

Pi I'm just listing wardrobe clean out stuff. Hubby has some weird junk to list but it's too hot to go down the workshop! I'll do that next week.

Can I interst you in some heels? Worn once (hate the bloody things, finally selling most of em) I'm sure you'd look smashing in them!

Yeah well i I could knock off work at lunch time and hit the pool I'd love it too.

I don't mind it during the day, even though my office isn't connected to the air conditioning so it's 30 in there the last few days, it's trying to sleep at night when it's hot that's the problem.

We have been leaving the air con on all night this week. Just on 1 with the ceiling fan it's enough. Yeah not looking forward to the electricity bill.

Ps I've been swimming in the middle of the night, it's awesome, except last 2 nights the bloody lightening has scared me out of there.

Good thing about my day job, I start when I want so I get in as early as I can and get it done, no breaks, but this time of year not much work only 10-15 hours a week. And I can do hubby's paper work (my real job!) whenever and at home so yeah pretty lucky there.

How come you don't have air conditioning in your office? Don't you work in a hospital? Those places are always freezing!

I'm about to hit the cross trainer in the 1 non air conditioned room in the house! Yeah. Hubby really didn't want a gym! Cheers!

The building I work in was built in 2007 as a "green" building. What is now my office was originally a store room and the aircon wasn't connected to it, for whatever reason. It would cost thousands to get it connected so I put up with it for the few days of the year that it's really hot.

Being a "green" building means the air con is stuffed anyway. Rolling Eyes

I have been starting work at 10:30pm and knocking off at 6am. Then I have to try and sleep during the day with no aircon at home! Bloody difficult!

I just bought a new portable A/C unit from Catch of the Day for $199. I already have one similar and it's brilliant so an extra one for the spare room can't hurt.
