My wife first saw snow in the old city in Jerusalem in 1981. We were backpacking then & she's a "girl from Sale, Gippsland".

Much like the photo of Kerry & Netanyahu on a balcony.

Mrs WPT opened the shutters in the morning & snow amongst the old sandstone buildings contrasting with the black garb of some & colour of others was spectacular. I still recall her shriek of excitement at seeing snow fall.

A black coffee from East Jerusalem, an apple pastry from the ultra orthodox areas was a great kick start to the day.

It snowed in North Vietnam this week and the Thais called a state of emergency in a number of provinces that when the temperature hit single figures overnight for 3 days running. The supermarket was full of stall holders flogging jackets rather than the usual summer wear.

As the fear-mongers hijack the public purse to spread warming fear, we're headed into an ice age.

Read up on Turney and his mates. Idiots.

You seriously couldn't make this stuff up.

Too funny.

Which "academic journal"?

Is it peer reviewed?

Can the editor spell, or even proof-read?

Are the qualifications of the writer (if any) relevant?

They wouldn't even get close to your academic brilliance to warrant a reply I would have thought. Laughing

I sold 8 meters of firewood last December.
The year before I sold just 1 (and that was for a bon-fire!).

Longreach is heading for a record. Ten days in a row of at least 43 degrees. Tomorrow's forecast is for 46.
Birdsville got up to 48 today.
