Kid has been compared by some to Dangerfield.

That would be nice, a Dangerfield clone...

No, I like the pick, more than the other pick...going to be a good quick player...

True and I think pace can be a two-edged sword because at junior levels it can be such an advantage that you don't have to develop other parts of your game.

Your Lokans and your Barhams had pace but they were not top ten draft picks. I'm glad we've invested in a pacy chassis instead of looking for quick but otherwise ordinary conveyances like we have in the past

Ricky Barham had pace as well
Seemed to go OK

Are you kidding me about about Ricky, OMG easily top 10-20 depending on what year. not only could he run, but his kicking at top pace was amazing. Unfortunately his hammies couldn't hold up.

did you see him tonight with the swans, unreal he has been there for about 20 years. Love him to death, OMG the tom jones of CFC ('Wink')

I love a solid and explosive running machine. Even if a little erratic they're always a dangerous weapon to have. Looks ready to go too! Very Happy

What he's known for: extreme pace (beat Stephen Hill's 20m time), strong in the contest and a clearance specialist, good around goals and can finish from range.

What he's not known for: terrible foot skills. He's not the best in the draft, but nowhere have I heard it said that his kicking's a significant liability, other than when he rushes kicks from contests instead of handballing, Sidebottom like, which has affected his overall efficiency percentage. With the rest of his attributes, below elite footskills are absolutely not an issue, just as they aren't for Thomas.

I was a little unsure about Freeman, mostly because I was sold on Salem and was hoping he'd be there at 10. I'd never really given Freeman much of a look. Now that I have, I think he's a great pickup. I can see he and Ben Kennedy helping to speed up our one-paced midfield next season and really make a difference. It's not just his pace, but his noted ability to burst through packs that is a major weapon (may take some time for him to be able to do this consistently in the AFL against stronger bodies). The comparison to Luke Schuey seems a good one and it's probably closer than Dangerfield.

Certainly for the 2014 season we could not have made a better selection, looks absolutely ready to go with an AFL body and extreme pace.

He actually reminds me - now don't take this the wrong way Nicksters - he actually reminds me of someone who played in a Carlton jumper. There is something very familiar about the way he takes the ball, turns, and then explodes away with it out of the pack .... I just can't remember who, but it was one of those Carlton players you saw a lot of 'coz they got a lot of pill and made you pay and pay.

A bit of turn-about would be nice. Smile

Gotta be alex marcou or the dominator Question

One of those Frasers I was thinking too Cool

I'm starting to warm to Freeman because he knows his way around a contest...a football brain, which is ranked next to having elite kicking skills for mine and his kicking isn't an issue just yet.

I would have picked Lennon but what I don't know compared to Hiney could fill a wharehouse.
