I don't mind paying slight overs (? ) In the form of cash for Adams . If there's one thing we have in abundance at pie land right now it's dollars and cap space. So we give GWS a little financial aid, a teeny tiny after dinner mint for heater and GWS feel warm and fuzzy and happy to entertain trades with the pies in the coming years. When their glut of talent starts to split the seams of their cap there will stand Dekka with a bunch of flowers and a couple of picks up his sleeve.
In simple I think this creates is the illusion we did GWS a solid. _________________ No Pressure, No Diamonds

Luke Ball turns 30 next year and may not have as long left in him as we would like.
Adams is a ready-made replacement with two years and 30-odd games of experience in him, albeit in a weak team.
He'll be a very good acquisition for us.
Welcome, young man, to the show that never ends. |

Hine & the recruiting team dun good: In the last 2 years:
Lose: Shaw, Thomas, Dawes & Wellingham.
Gain: 5 first round picks inc: Grundy, Kennedy, Broomhead & picks 6 & 10.
Not bad for a days work |
to be fair, two of those first round picks come to us as of right. I think the right analysis is that Collingwood parlayed Shaw, Thomas, Dawes & Wellingham into Kennedy, Broomhead, Adams and 6 (we would always have had the right to draft Grundy and the 10 is ours as of right).
I still think that is a good outcome (certainly for the future), but the winner of that trade is unclear at this time.
I think its a good outcome because we had to correct the attitude problem that crept in after Mick left. Its also a good outcome because we didnt get nostalgic like a lot of premiers do and we didnt overvalue aging premiership stars. |
You could also add Lynch and Young, as they were largely signed as replacements for Dawes and Wellingham, and we'd not have been able to sign them both if they'd not left. |
Actually we got Grundy for Wellingham. We're way in front imho. |

Those who were worrying about us paying part of Heath's contract, you can rest easy. It will have no effect at all. It's only for the 2014 season. We have cap space at the moment and were always going to keep some free to go after a free agent next year. The Shaw deal does not effect that as the money will be cleared at the end of next season. _________________ Well done boys! |

You honestly happy about losing Heater Daz??
I remain uncertain as what to feel especially as I know **** all about this Adams....... |
Watch more football than just Collingwood games then!
One eyed supporters shit me sometimes. |
Geez! OMG! Sorry for being an one eyed Collingwood supporter....
We used to be in the vast majority once upon a time before the new age AFL football loving folk start following traditional teams like Collingwood.........
Dear me.....told off by a bloody silly new ager for being an one eyed 'pie of all things.... |

Oh, fair go Steve! Watching Greatest Waste-of-Space games are amongst the hardest to stomach in the AFL. Who wants to see cricket scores kicked against these blokes week-in, week-out? I for one can't.
Obviously, if we were told back in March that we were a chance to get T.A., then we all would most likely have taken more of an interest in their progress in 2013, to see how he goes about it.
When Lazza isn't watching the Pies, then he's here on Nicks.
It's just how he rolls!

Thanks Dyso. I just couldn't care less about Sheedy's piss weak rabble last season.....
However I feel SO ashamed of being criticised on a Collingwood forum for being a passionate one eyed 'pie.....
So sorry for that.... My bad.......... |

I agree it's boring as hell to watch those non games with the likes of Greedy Western Sydney, but I try to as much as I can just to see where these kids are going. In a few years time some of them are going to be absolute guns and we might as well poach some! |

One question Nicksters.
If young Taylor ever becomes our captain, will our team be then known as Adams Pies?......just asking. |
