I reckon, with all the excitement of making sure we got a good deal for Heater, we have seriously underestimated this kid.
He can get his own footy, knows where the goals are and is hard as a rams head. He's also got class - I reckon he'll make our HFL this year (Adams, Cloke, Sidebottom) rotating through the midfield - I'm just not sure how good he is defensively, but we can teach him that.
I don't want to down play Heater (probably the best running defender in the league and I still cry inside thinking he's gone) but we got a good deal IMO.
Gomez should move in with Luke Ball immediately - build a granny flat for Luke's wife and family to move into - we've got a great established midfield and now we've got understudies!
Just need to get another Pendlebury...

Nah, keep Amy in the house and Adams can sleep on the back doormat if he's as tough and hungry as Gubby Allan indicates. _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

Um. Watched it. And um, I liked the highlights. Um, has some real power. Um, reminds me a bit of Brent Moloney in terms of body shape. _________________ Well done boys! |

Welcome to Collingwood Taylor Adams
I'm absolutely delighted to have him at the club and I feel that out of the three recruits we've obtained over the free agency/trade period, I feel that Adams will be the best out of the lot.
He's going to be the perfect long-term replacement for Luke Ball, when Ball does eventually decide to hang up the boots one day. I expect that Adams will play in the senior side regularly next year as he's a talented player and a very tough player as well.
It's also great to hear that Adams has a strong player-coach relationship with Nathan Buckley, and I think this in the end proved to be the difference in Adams nominating Collingwood as his preferred club over Geelong.
Sad to see Heater go, but Adams is the future and I feel that this kid is going to be one of our best players for the next ten years. Exciting times are ahead

This is an absolute steal, imo. We may not realise it much next year but in 2015 / '16 when Heater's body lets him down more and more often (it's already started) this kid won't even have hit his prime yet. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

I remain uncertain as what to feel especially as I know **** all about this Adams....... |
Watch more football than just Collingwood games then!
One eyed supporters shit me sometimes. |
I'm with you Steve.

Give the kid a break. I remember Chris Tarrant and Dayne Beams could barely string a sentence together when they first got to the club but Taz is quite articulate by comparison and Beamsy is getting better and better.
Anyway I like the cut of young Taylors jib and he's a ready made starting midfielder despite his tender years. He's going to be a key for us for a long time barring injuries. Tough, skillful, quick and smart. I'm thrilled to have him. |

Nothing wrong with bullies on a football field. Brisbane's 2001-3 threepeat side was full of them.
From memory this year we didn't get a single player suspended for a physical clash which I don't think is such a good thing. I don't like players sitting out games but I thought we badly lacked physicality and a bit of mongrel all year which is something that needs to be brought into our make up.
The likes of Williams, Grundy and Adams have the physical tools and natural aggression to make teams a bit nervous going forward (that's without belting blokes) and that has to be good for us. |
