Post subject: What would you be willing to offer for J. Patton? | |

Growing rumor that Patton will be pushed out of the GWS side with Cameron making a strong impression this year, Franklin still on the radar and Boyd the obvious #1 pick...
Would we look at picking him up?? If so, what do you think would be the appropriate trade?? I would say a straight swap with our first round draft pick. |

He's a 19 year old who's had knee recos on both knees iirc, massive risk, i'd pass TBH knowing that he wouldn't come cheap. _________________ Defender...........

My understanding is that they have earmarked Cameron as a centre half back.
Sounds strange given this year however the club believes with the centre half forwards in the comp coming through ATM Cameron is the perfect choice. He has also some experience behind the ball.
This means Boyd and Patton will bge up front, Patton having signed a contract extension last year before the knee. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

I highly doubt it.

Hmmm.... tough one. What would GWS seriously look at? Would Nate Brown get it done? Probably not. But if you offered Brown at the end of 2010, teams would have jumped at him. Shows you how player value can jump around.
I really dont know what I'd offer. All I know is whatever I could come up with, GWS would probably look the other way anyway.
Look, I'd def look at him, but I dont think GWS will move him. But I wouldnt like to over pay for him. He could go either way with his career.

Which will be around pick 9 or 10. I think they'd ask for something else considering he was pick #1 just 2 years ago. Even tho he's done a knee. (Think about it, Keeffe did his knee and he came back alright). I would rather keep that pick anyway. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Yeah they'd laugh at our first rounder, they'd want a very good middle age player (like a Sidebottom) and our first rounder. _________________ Defender...........

^ yeah I think so.
Has been talked about a bit up here.
Imagine having Carey and Jackovic in the same side though. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

Last year I would have given almost anything for the 'general', looks like he will be a real gun even with the knees, but then we drafted Grundy which made me very happy! Then Grundy played and blew our minds, but I still would love to get Patton, I just think we would have to give too much, he was a no.1 pick, and is still a giant of a bloke, we cant afford to give away our mids, Swan, Pendles, Beamer, Daisy, and Steelo are the core of Collingwood going forward. We need them all, they aren't just players, they are a unit, and the best there is! _________________ "If at first you dont succeed...

Shaw and pick 11 (if we had it) is quite a fair deal. _________________ Well done boys! |
