I'm honestly starting to think most of the posters on this site haven't set fire to a dwarf before.

Oh c'mon........ lighten up. Very Happy

Seriously though - It's the media that's sucked everyone in here by going the "dwarf" line.
The players were lighting each other on fire, the paid entertainment were included in this nonsensical prank, and obviously didn't see the funny side. Fair enough.

I agree it's absolute stupidity from these so called adults, but in context is an absolute beat-up, and the heat on Demetriou is so contrived that it makes WWE look like a fair sporting contest.

To put it in PC language, the player was intellectually challenged for trying to light up a vertically challenged person. And the real challenge the rest of us have is to keep it serious..... Exclamation

For the first time in my memory, the story has made the New York Times. Note it is listed under rugby!

http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2013/09/03/sports/rugby/03reuters-australian-rules-dwarf.html?ref=global&_r=0

Demetriou makes headlines too.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/australia/10282511/Head-of-Australian-Rules-Football-apologises-for-laughing-after-player-set-fire-to-dwarfs-clothing.html

All in all, after the tanking, draft tampering and drug cheating, dwarf flaming caps off a great year for Andy and his AFL.

Can the player and/or the club be charged for bringing the game into disrepute?? Looks like the headlines are not great for the AFL... Rolling Eyes Where is the hack AFL media with their agenda on this???

Demetriou wasn't laughing at the setting of anyone on fire. He was laughing at the incredulity of the situation.

(I have a lot of time for Demetriou. Just sayin'.)

stui has tried to kill me with his cigarettes before but that doesn't really count. Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

anyway, said dwarf seems to be making a bit of coin out of this. this may have ignited or lit up his career even more, so to speak.

Oi, I apologised for that, it was an accident.

Could someone photoshop a pic of that photo of Sookwaldt with his agates out and dawson tending to them with care, and insert a flaming dwarf in wrestling garb flying in from left of screen ready to chomp down like a piranha?

Please?

One of the most misunderstood songs going 'round: (it's about bullying, bigotry, it's being ironic (atypical at times for Americans - if we're gunna make generalizations) & having a bit of fun....for those concrete thinkers out there).

They tried to ban the song in Maryland USA because people didn't realize he was being satirical about the pointlessness & absurdity of racism & bigotry etc...... lets have a go at short people. I did hear one interpretation that was about bullying - something he allegedly experienced. Not sure if that's true or not.
