anyone actually consider Elliott still carrying an injury? Rolling Eyes

I'd guess that Sinclair is also.

Great inclusions, pretty obvious outs. No excuses, we must roll them

Can't wait, GO PIES!

My guess (and that's all it is) is that Elliott has recovered from his hammy soreness and is fit, but an extra week off will do him the world of good. If tomorrow was the Granny he'd be in the side, but as we expect to beat Port anyway, it's better to have Elliott absolutely cherry ripe for next week. It also gives Dids an opportunity to press his case for remaining in the side.

it also gives Bucks the opportunity to start Dids as the Sub, with that in mind to dropping him next week to facilitate Elliotts re-entry....

Start Dids as sub... comes on late with little impact, gets dropped following week....

Elliott is still a better option to Dids at this stage.

I wouldn't think Didak would play at Subi - big ground and I'm not sure he can cover it atm. But he could be rested for the Freo game (assuming that's what it is) for Elliot and then the real selection headaches start.

I hope we have them, because that'd mean another prelim Smile

^ Didak is as fit as you could hope. He has been playing wing & HFF in the VFL for 6 weeks+. So his Match fitness, at least at VFL level, is very good.

Anyone got any news from training today? Did Lynch and Brown train? Pretty sure they said Brown trained unhindered earlier in the week so doubt he's a problem but Lynch has to be highly in doubt doesn't he?

Jolly's not even an emergency.... curious...

Yeah both trained. Brown seemed to train freely. Lynch too but his disposal even at training to me was pretty average. Seems very slow in most respects compared to the rest of the team.

If Elliott's fit (and since he's named as emergency I'm assuming he is) he has to be in our side. He's our best small forward with real goal sense, a terrific leap and set of hands and tackles like a limpet. Plus he's second on our goal kicking for goodness sake.

In case anyone hasn't noticed it's an Elimination Final and we don't have the luxury of giving Elliott a bit of a rest with an eye to next week, when we possibly won't be there next week.

We all love Did's but his hit outs this year have consisted of a run as sub against a woeful Melbourne, another run as sub when we were 10 goals up against West Coast and a glorified training run with virtually no tackling pressure in a dead rubber against North. He played one more as well but I can't even remember who it was against.

Did's has done alright but it hardly gives me any confidence that he's match ready for the pace, intensity and pressure of a final. A prime Didak no worries, but an older, slower, injury plagued Didak, I'm not so sure but I bloody hope he is because he has to be.

Again not playing Elliott if he's fit is baffling to me and I just hope sentiment isn't overuling common sense in this case.

Channel 10 reporting that both Brown and Lynch remain in doubt.

If true then I don't see how any of our emergencies named would be helpful in filling there positions.

If Lynch is out then it makes sense does it not that one of Hudson or Jolly would take his place?

If Brown was out do we really want to rob our forward line of Reid a week after he kicked 5 goals?

If not surely we wont rely on Maxwell/Goldsack/Russell to take a key defensive position as that has disaster written all over it.

For mine young Frost who just played his best VFL game since his return from injury would be the logical and in reality only option to replace Brown.

^^^ Jordan Russell played brilliantly at FB in the last VFL home and away game. He will get the gig before Frost is brought up.

No, I'm not saying that's necessarily a good thing.

Frost 194cm, Russell 188cm.

Russell isn't tall enough to play kp in the AFL.
