WTF, we lost the 2011 GF to the Cats....

And since then? If its good enough for the cats to make a pact never to lose to the hawks after their GF loss, then it's good enough for us!

Let's hope Daisy puts in a solid performance in the Magoos tomorrow.

Only 2 more rounds, thank God!
So glad this season is coming to an end.

I was hoping we could be within 1-2 goals late in the final QTR because the GEEL games seem to indicate HAWKS wilt under the press of a tight finish.

And on both occasions tonight when we clawed back their lead they started to hesitate and lost their flair.

AND Grundy is a STAR!!!!!!!!!

Kinda agree with Cam.

However, we still lack a bit more run but especially a bit more polish with our disposals. Maybe Daisy and Seedsman could sneak into the side and provide a bit more panache. Lynch was OK early but gave us nothing in the 2nd half. Dwyer might lose his spot as he seemed to struggle to have an impact despite playing most of the second half.

We weren't disgraced, but the fact is we're an improving team, but we're not quite there yet.

Despite the result, Grundy's performance was magnificent. I'd love us to play Jolly and Grundy together.

Not good enough tonight

Keefe a coaching error. Did bucks have no choice?

I think our bigger bodied players need to use their weight more.
Sometimes we looked soft.

Umpiring is different in our games. I think they make our players afraid to be physical.

Umpiring was appalling after qtr time. But didn't make us lose. We weren't good enough.

But I am still encouraged. Daisy and toovey still to come back and with continued development of our young players, we will get better.

Lets hope the cats get rid of the hawks in the finals for us.

keefe had buddy second half. half buddies goals came from horse sht free kicks

They are too good for us,there's no doubt about that. But I think we need to select a taller more athletic side when we play them.We have too many shrimpy players like Sinclair,Thomas,Elliott,Dwyer etc.Dale Thomas,Seedsman and Young would help,as they're all quite a bit taller.

Disgraceful effort tonight. We were under prepared and seem to learn nothing every time they beat us. I am fed up of Hawthorn kicking our arse every time we play them. Don't we learn from these defeats? Nope. They have our physical and psychological measure. Fed up of being second fiddle to a pack of spoilt brats like Hawthorn.

Our passing tonight was crap. Goal kicking was crap. Tackling was crap. And the lack of game plan was obvious.

It is no point playing finals knowing we cannot beat certain teams. Time to start tanking for draft picks.

what do people think of Caffs game ? Struggled for mine, as did Q stick.

Did Mitchell rip us a new one the way he normally does? thought Caff did alright...whether alright is good enough I don't know, but he wasn't disgraced. Just needs to hurt em more going the other way

they hammered mitchell. He will be sore tomorrow. But he played great.

Caff or Mitchell? I didn't think Mitchell was as influential as usual...but I also didn't think Brown played a blinder, so obviously Im in the minority here

Yes, I think you are. Roughead has been the one all year tearing the opposition apart, week after week. But tonight, when the game was hot, Brown didn't let him touch it.

How many times was Brown one on one with Roughy the way Keefe was one on one with Buddy? I rather think that they went more to Buddy than Roughy.
And yes, the obvious answer to that is that they respected Brown more as a defender than the 15 game soccer player; still doesn't make Brown the messiah.

But I'm happy to stand corrected

Sounds like a solid effort on which to build. It was never about winning, but about our first settled side in memory measuring itself against the benchmark.

The key is to put the lessons in the back pocket and build on the gains of recent weeks despite the loss.

Mitchell had 24 disposals and provided lots of run, was among their best.

They won the ball at the coalface and we didn't put enough pressure on the ball carrier and their skills are too good when you give them space they will cut you up. I think most of us here have identified that we dint put enough pressure on them or go man on man.

Has happened each of the 5 games we have played them under Bucks for the same result. Unless we change the way we play them then the same result will occur next time...Thats the disappointing thing, it doesn't seem we are learning or taking anything from these losses to them.

I think that for certain periods of the game, Collingwood did pressure them and make them look ordinary. Realistically, if Cloke, Marley Williams and Ben Reid could have made a couple of very simple kicks count , the 'Pies would have led at half time. In my opinion, it looked like it was beyond the team to back up off a second 6-day break and play the maniacal style of football required to pressure Hawthorn's ball carriers. By the third quarter, Collingwood really had no run at all.

That said, at times I felt that a few of them allowed themselves to be physically intimidated at the contest by Hawthorn's bigger bodies.

Wow, I actually agree with HISS for a change.

Bucks and co, clearly have no idea on how to play Hawthorn at the moment.

Also, some of you are delusional if think we can still win the flag this year...this Pies team is not good, miles off a flag at the moment.

These dawk bastards are the so called yard stick and we got closer to them tonight, fought it out right to the end. Take away two shocker frees to buddy, goals, and goldies terrible effort and we are three goals closer again. I think we learnt a lot tonight, I have a strong feeling next season when we play these swines- they cannot improve, we can a lot with daisy, tooves and fasolo back-things could be very different, I do not rate their back six, and Lake is an old prune. Hawks have some problems in the finals, the cats can take em yet again, so can swans.

And this kid Grundy is Peter Moore revisited !!

Just on dispsoals, 24 is a win for us. Rarely has less than 30.
