Prediction time.
Now we are at Xmas & that means the halfway point, let's put our predictions forward. At least this campaign has a bit of a log jam at the top making it interesting for a change. (especially for those who don't support one of the big clubs)
Champs?, Top 6 & Relegation.

At the moment we have at the top;
Liverpool 36 Arsenal 36 Man City 35 Chelsea 34 Everton 34 Newcastle 30
At the bottom;
Crystal Pal 13 Fulham 13 Sunderland 10.

My predictions for the end of the season in order;

Man City (champs), Liverpool, Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal, Everton.

Going down;
Norwich, Sunderland, Crystal Pal.

Time will tell.........

It's been a very interesting and even season so far.

I still sense that Man City are the favourites because of their devastating home form but their away form is far from perfect. It's held them back from being ahead of everyone else.

Liverpool are playing some great football as well especially since Luis Suarez is in red-hot form but I have a feeling that if Suarez has a decline in form then Liverpool may decline as a whole, but Daniel Sturridge has also been very handy for them as well when he has played but currently he's injured. I think Liverpool will finish in the top 4 but they'll be gutted if they can't qualify for the UCL next season.

Arsenal are travelling along reasonably well but I feel that their lack of depth might expose them at the tail end of the season. They've done a lot better than I've expected but I don't think they'll win the title despite being equal top with Liverpool.

My mob Chelsea are still in the race despite not playing very well throughout the course of the season. We still have a major problem with our strikers and we lack the killer instinct to finish sides off in games where we dominate. Such examples include the Everton, Stoke and Newcastle games where we lost but dominated for periods of the game but the opposition began to build more confidence as time wore on. With Mourinho at the helm you'd be a brave man to tip them outside the top 4 come the end of these season.

Everton has surprisingly lost only one match and they've been really good this season under Roberto Martinez but I don't think anyone would expect them to win the title against the bigger clubs. They'll be happy to finish top 4.

Man Utd are currently in transition under David Moyes but things seem to be gradually improving over there but time will tell. I can't see them winning the title but they are capable of a top 4 finish. Moyes would be concerned if Man Utd missed out on the opportunity to be in the UCL next season unless they win the UCL this season which means automatic qualification regardless of their league position. This happened to Chelsea in 2012.

In the relegation zone Sunderland are really struggling but they've improved under Gus Poyet. Fulham haven't looked good at all this season and I find it difficult to see how they will survive and the same goes for Crystal Palace, but Palace has the ability to win games they're not expected to win.

For the teams just outside relegation I think Cardiff and West Brom are in the most trouble as West Brom recently sacked Steve Clarke and haven't found a suitable replacement just yet and there seems to be a lot of in-fighting occurring between the Cardiff owner and the manager so the club is a little unstable behind closed doors. West Ham are also near the relegation zone but Big Sam is experienced and he knows what it's all about to avoid relegation. He did it with Bolton back in 2003.

Anyway it's going to be a great second half of the year coming up Smile

There's no way Arsenal are missing top 4.

Can't even see how that conclusion can be drawn based on this season's form. Liverpool for second is a lofty ambition too.

1. City
2. Arsenal
3. Chelsea
4. Liverpool

That's how I see it now. Us or Chelsea could swap around too.

I watched the Newcastle-Stoke game today in full. The referee was very generous to the Magpies. 2 penalties and sent off two players and the manager and missed a red card for deliberate handball in the penalty area for Stoke. That said go Pies.
