had a look at this page on facebook courtesy of a friend.

WOW, the Murray River is as high as it's been any time since 1974.
Some really good photos in there if anyone's interested. Kangaroos can swim, so can Brown Snakes _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

The inquest into Phil Hughes' death. Seriously, what difference does it make to anything if there was sledging? There will always be sledging. Someone admitting they sledged isn't going to un-bowl the ball that killed him. Sledging someone doesn't mean you wish them dead. I don't understand the point. Someone please enlighten me. |

Just the nature of a Coroners inquest LD they are inquisitorial by design and intent. The Coroner wants to know everything and I mean everything - what was said, what was heard, action, inactions, the weather, the lighting etc etc.
The media seem intent on focusing on the sledging but for the Coroner it would just be part of gathering all the information to inform their findings and perhaps shape recommendations to prevent a similar death occurring again - it's not like trial where someone is found guilty or blame apportioned.
In this case probably a recommendation around safety gear - it's more a learning exercise. Some very good recommendations have come from Coroners inquests - they are very worthwhile. _________________ “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” |

While we're on that topic:
My younger sister on Facebook wrote: | If I see a clown, shit's gonna go two ways.

Knowing her, both these responses seem plausible. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

There's a few WTF's in this.
Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) tries to make his sons pregnant GF get an abortion
A 37 year old man still lives at home with mum and dad and they control him to the degree that they can decide when he's ready to be a father, but I guess he's tapped into the cash vein and for that to continue, what mummy and daddy says must go.

The more you have the more you're scared to lose it.
We're only hearing one side of that story, I'd be interested to hear the Hamill's side before judging. |

What happened to you Malcolm Turnbull???
Were you just a fraud sprouting what " was popular" and conning people into believing you were a sensible reasonable bloke before you grabbed power?
Or are you just a fraud now sprouting " the party line" to hold on to power at all costs despite your own beliefs?

Whatever the realpolitik of the situation, his approach is a one-way ticket to disaster. He'll never get that credibility back. When will Australian politicians realise that a bit of intestinal fortitude, going out on a limb, showing commitment to personal values, etc., actually plays well to the electorate?
Perhaps there's a disconnection between what many people think a PM is (essentially the guy in charge) and what they actually are (the chief spokesperson for the cabinet and broader party room). Obviously, Turnbull requires a mandate from his party in order to keep his position, as the last three prime ministers found out; but the party room have the power to not make him look so weak if they choose to wield it. I suspect he just has too many enemies in there who are happy to see him fail. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |
