Eagles destroying the Bears in the late game. After the Lions' loss today (and how the hell have they managed to throw away the division title?), it'll be Bears vs Packers for NFC North. Eagles' win means nothing in the greater scheme of things if they don't beat the Cowboys next week. As for the game itself, it's not over yet and the Eagles have almost 300 yards of rushing.
Disappointing that the game on One HD this morning was the irrelevant Jets-Browns fixture. |

The 49ers have just clinched their playoff spot with a dramatic interception and 90 yard return TD just as it looked like the Falcons might rain on their parade.
San Francisco leads 34:24 with a little more than 1 minute to go. |

And the man who is living proof that 12 is not always the same thing as 3 times 4 (in fact, in a surprise result, the correct solution for this equation seems to be 4/3=12) is back for Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers is set to play in the Divisional decider against the Bears in Chicago. Here's hoping he makes it past quarter time, this time around. I am expecting that this is the first of 322 consecutive starts. |

I follow the Cowboys and whilst I'd agree in part that Romo is overrated, the problem the Cowboys have is the massive contract he signed with them last time.
He is the turnover king and that coupled with his contract means he will pretty much be untradeable.
Romo is laughing to the bank on this one. |

So, with critical matchups between the Stealers and the Browns, the Ravens and the Bengal and the Panthers and Atlanta, the early FTA game this morning is Jaguars at Colts 😣.
Anyway, the Steelers are doing what they need to do, leading the Browns 20:0 with under 6 minutes to go. Meanwhile, Flacco just threw an Interception and the Bengals lead that one 27:17 (although Dalton just threw one in the endzone when a TD would have clinched the game for his Bengalis). Miami are also trailing the Jets 17:7 and the Panthers are clinging to a lead against Atlanta. Oh, yes - and the Colts are pumping the Jags 30:10 with 16 seconds to go. As things stand, it looks like either San Diego or Pittsburgh will clinch the final AFC playoff place - that will depend upon whether the Chargers beat the Chiefs.

The next FTA game is Denver at Oakland. Looks like I'll be following the return of the Packers' offense on the Net. |

Was really looking forward to today's matches, but the free to air choice leave a lot to be desired. At least Cowboys-Eagles is a certainty. |

Something scary about watching the play on gamecast. The Rodgers/Cobb show just put the Pack in the lead with under a minute to go. 48 yard TD on 4th and 8. Must have been exciting, if you were watching it live? |

And Sam Shields has just intercepted Cutler's deep throw with 10 seconds to play. Green Bay will go the play offs with a 33:18 win over the Bears at Soldier Field. |

I'd imagine it'd be pretty scary to have to listen to Cutler lobbing desperate passes into the endzone, not knowing for those few seconds if the Bears will somehow make the most of that desperation. |

I'm watching the dallas game on OneHD.
People who say they can't tell a difference between HD and SD have rocks in their head...
Watch the NFL coverage on OneHD then watch an AFL game on 7. |

Well, it's all done and dusted except for the Dallas/Eagles game. No doubt Brenny will report the outcome of that in a couple of hours. The other play-off match-ups are as follows:
AFC WILD-CARD ROUND
SATURDAY, JAN. 4, AND SUNDAY, JAN. 5, times TBA
No. 5 Kansas City Chiefs at No. 4 Indianapolis Colts
No. 6 San Diego Chargers at No. 3 Cincinnati Bengals
AFC DIVISIONAL ROUND
SATURDAY, JAN. 11, AND SUNDAY, JAN. 12, times TBA
TBA at No. 1 Denver Broncos
TBA at No. 2 New England Patriots
NFC WILD-CARD ROUND
SATURDAY, JAN. 4, AND SUNDAY, JAN. 5, times TBA
No. 5 San Francisco 49ers at No. 4 Green Bay Packers
No. 6 New Orleans Saints at No. 3 Philadelphia Eagles or Dallas Cowboys
NFC DIVISIONAL ROUND
SATURDAY, JAN. 11, AND SUNDAY, JAN. 12, times TBA
TBA at No. 1 Seattle Seahawks
TBD at No. 2 Carolina Panthers
Should be interesting to see whether the Pack let CK run for about 1,350 yards in their playoff game again this year. With a bit of luck, he might find it harder to get traction in the ice and snow at Lambeau. |

We have a winner! Kyle Orton understood the Dallas game plan perfectly, right down to the need for a last-drive interception to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. So, the Eagles win 24:22 and will host the 'Aints in wildcard round. |
