Edwards is only able to be selected as a priority by Collingwood, who they have committed to.

I still think that size isn't the issue although if he can stretch to 170cm ill take that.

Is all about pace, hardness and skill... I see him as another Eddie Betts but without the stench of Carlscum anywhere.

The way we keep amassing smalls on our list, he'll be our ruckman before too long...

So have we officially passed on him or what?

When do NSW rookies have to be nominated by?

Thursday 31 October by 2pm - list lodgement (1); rookie promotion to primary list; Retained second and third-year rookies; Scholarship players; alternate talent player nominations.

Would this be the date?

So tomorrow is D day i presume for Edwards.

I thought the AFL had stopped the category of NSW rookies.

My understanding is he hasn't developed as had been hoped for.

Rudeboy, the program was discontinued but I understand that the players who were admitted to the program before it was stopped remain in it - so, in principle, Collingwood is, I believe, able to rookie Elijah, if it chooses to do so (and he agrees). Of course, whether Collingwood chooses to do so is a whole different question.

i can remember the hype 4 years ago, and it was big. He has been training with us this year ( i believe), so we will know exactly where he is at. If he doesn't make it, that will just leave Witts as the sole NSW guy left.
