Ahh, thankyou MB!
Do you know, I could not find the rookie list rules anywhere on-line. What a joke! (Yes, I did find that same document Stui linked to, but nowhere is there anything clearly up-to-date.)
Do we have to name the "nominated rookies" before Round One? Or can we hang back and not name one or both of them until we are in a position to know whether we need a ruckman or a small forward or a tall defender? _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Yes.
It is my understanding that we can also nominate a 3rd rookie at the midway point of the season, so we get that extra option for either a smallish mid/forward (Kyle Martin) or a tall defender (Jack Frost).
For more information, I found this release from Melbourne FC (MELBOURNE, of all teams!) which explains the new rules:

Thanks to WL and others for some great info.
As usual WL you leave the professional journalists for dead when providing training reports. _________________ Carlscum 120 years being cheating scum |

Good afternoon Mr Neil.
Nothing annoys me more than journos who write training reports when they aren't even at the ground. One day, several years back, I was the only person at Goschs Paddock yet a journo wrote a report about that mornings training.
The chap in question was not even there, but wrote a report, which was fallacious. Shame on him.
During the main season, I'll leave the commentary on games to others. There are many, many fine contributors on Nicks whose writings I thoroughly enjoy too.
Roll on March 31st...!!

Have any of our rookies impressed enough to warrant elevation for rnd 1? |

Thanks, MB. I feel more confident going into the season knowing that Hudson will be available for the seniors.

Good evening Mr Rick
On the many trainings that I have witnessed, our blessings with quality rookies seem to be continuing.
Frost, Hartley and Oxley all look good tallish options for third tall either back (Frost or Hartley) or forward (Oxley). It goes without saying that Hudson is a no-brainer for back up ruck.
Martin and Dwyer ( in that order) are smaller mids and Mooney, from match simulations, is a possible small/medium forward tackling pressure option.
As stated, our rookies have served us well over the past decade or so. I have confidence this tradition will continue. _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

So from your observations so far of the 'talls' and the 'smalls' who stands out? |

Good evening Mr Rick.
It's time to round up 'the Usual Suspects' in regard to the rookies: Martin is the most impressively a fair way- he is composed and can take a hit to the body and cruise on. Yagmoor has great skill and is improving- Dwyer is going ok as is Mooney.
Oxley, Hartley are impressive, but not as much as Frost who is well advanced.
I'd like to see Richmond later in the year because he seems to be quite athletic and has some good skills.
Hope that answers your queries.
In terms of the Magpies and their rookies, 2013 could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship....! _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

Thanks young Warbuton Lad , sounds very encourgaging on many fronts especially clinton young and caff as a tagger. Frost sounds like he will be handy , but better than Bandy. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

Good afternoon Mr 3rd Degree.
My pleasure.
As outlined in my training report, and now verified on The Age website- Maxy will be confirmed as captain, officially, in the next 24 hours.
