Post subject: Collingwood site short on stories. | |
|
Hate to be a moaner but the site hasn't had any new stories or anything that could be of interest to the fans to make the off season more bearable.
Of course there are no games being played but why wouldn't the club take the opportunity to post some stories of old, or perhaps some profiles on players (new and old)?
Why not have some polls going on who supporters think will be our next star? Its basic stuff not earthshattering news, we dont need it, just some good old fashioned positive stuff about how good our players are, or what a players favourite food to eat before a game, etc etc. The club could even give advice to the humble observer/supporter/online subscriber on how to become a budding AFL player and what it takes to stay on top.
Better still post interviews of players of the past. What about interviewing a bootstrapper or dietician?
I've clicked on the official site everyday hoping for some fresh stuff, but alas the cupboard is bare.......time to go shopping. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

There was some discussion in this thread, which got a response from the club (Luke who has been a long time poster here).

Quote: | Re. your post, the reduced level of content in recent weeks is a product of several factors, including the fact that the playing group has been absent until only recently as well as the office closure over the holiday period (not to mention teething problems with the new website experienced by all clubs!). Unfortunately it also inhibited our Utah content towards the end of the trip (from my point of view back in the office anyway), as while we would receive the photographs and video footage from Jonathon Bernard over in the US at about 9.30-10am Melbourne time, it would often take until 4pm for the new website to actually display it. Extremely frustrating for both us at the back end and all supporters logging on for the latest!
Stay tuned for plenty more from next week onwards when normal programming resumes.
Hope everyone's enjoying a solid break over summer. A lot to look forward to this year.
By the way, if you have any feedback or notice any issues in relation to the website, please feel free to email us on digitalmedia@collingwoodfc.com.au.
Cheers,
Luke Mason

Fair point that the office has been closed, but surely not long enough to exclude any sort of material for so long, Christmas to new year I assume.
The players can have their holidays without it affecting site content and news.
The site(s) having teething problems goes a long way to explaining the situation. Lets hope it goes ok from this week.
I am generally happy with the improvement of the official site and many thanks to the efforts of Luke, Nicks, etc for keeping us country folk informed. Its a tad better than the dark old days of print media. _________________ Carpe diem quam minimum credula postero. |

Hi Azza, thanks for the suggestions, you make some good points.
We'll have a training photo gallery (plus CTV) on the site as soon as possible. Fingers crossed that's sooner rather than later (it's been in the new system for nearly two hours; I'm just waiting for it to go through but we are at the mercy of the system for the moment. We'll keep you posted).
For the time being, you can find a selection of them on our Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151294421421107.467918.83584926106&type=1

Luke has the matter in hand, has fired up this week and got a good bit of content going.
Now if we could just get him to take some pics of the new rookies! |
