A tragic turn of events to be sure, a sad, sad day in the USA, and all over.

Gun purchases on the up, too, apparently.

This doesn't happen here. When will they learn?

Look, the only solution is to arm all of the kids in the schools so they can take out the gunmen. Then everyone will be safe.

I think it is bear arms. The problem is the second amendment dates back to single shot guns that took time to reload. They can repeal any amendment as witnessed by the prohibition of alcohol act. No President has the balls to do it. Simply ban automatic weapons. As usual the NRA and wankers anonymous will be more worried about measuring dicks than protecting innocent children.

No doubt some parents will have their kids in shooting schools this week and send their kids to school armed. Merry Christmas

Start with the fully automatic military style ones, limit magazine capacity for semi automatic, ban handguns except for need (Police, security, actual gun club members), strict laws on storage and carrying.

Some parts of the USA it's perfectly legal to walk around with a loaded handgun in your pocket or bag.

Any President who takes on this challenge should unfortunately get preparations in order for his/her own funeral cos they won't live long.

Look I agree the American weapons laws are as lax as you can get in a civilised world, but the fact remains it is sick human beings who do the killing.

I mean what sicko would take out their emotional tantrum on little children for God's sake? Twisted Evil

I think we need to look seriously at compulsory psychological screening (including brain scans) for every person in a high risk category. Stuff all civil libertarians.

No animal in the world of nature commits an act so evil as the human being. It is now becoming almost impossible NOT to be a misanthrope.

Jack, I agree that we need better mechanisms for diagnosing and treating mental illness, but let's deal with the real problem here: the fact that anyone can buy a gun and everybody can have moments of madness. People kill people, as the saying goes, but they can't do it nearly as easily without guns. More guns = more deaths.

Just ban them. Obama's got four years to deal with the backlash. Now's the time.

Gun Control

I didn't like Howard, but I believe his greatest achievement was bringing in the banning of guns.

interesting about the 2nd amendment.

Quote:
in 2008 an 2010 the Supreme Court issued two Second Amendment decisions. the Court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to service in a militia and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.

Shooting up innocent children doesn't appear to fit that at all.
