Lockyer will not be coach and the door is open. Dale Tapping and Anthony Rocca are two names that have been thrown around. I am hoping we approach others, Alan Richardson for one. |

Sad to see Tarks go out on such a low note, but if it is true (and I have no reason to doubt Culprit), then it is the right call. Tarks has been a good soldier for our club, bled for the jumper, but he has been a flop as a coach.
As for a replacement, here's a suggestion from left-field: if he doesn't get the Port Adelaide gig, what about Rodney Eade?
Bucks and the coaching panel will be a year wiser next season, so the need for the "training wheels" support from Eade in the coaches box will be less, yet we could still keep his tactical nous in house and get him to coach the VFL team as part of the bargain.
Plus, he obviously loves to coach and educate young kids, so why not give him responsibility for developing our youngsters as VFL coach?
Rocca? No offense, Pebbles, but as defensive development coach, you are in the wrong job. You should be in Lappin's job, teaching Dawes how to mark, kick and use his body. _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

Rocket couldn't do the job while still in the role he has now as DOC.
If Collingwood's VFL and AFL side have to play at the same time, everything has to be compromised.
I'm disappointed to see Tarks go, but this had to happen IMO. 2 terrible years finishing near the bottom of the pack isn't going to cut it. I know this team isn't around for results, but its not there to not be competitive. _________________ Black and White - Through and Through - Side by Side - Us against Them |

I rate Dale Tapping pretty highly MB, great footy brain and great teacher and that is who I would go with.
Rocca, no and I would go so far as not coaching material.
Richo may get offers elsewhere it will depend on what and who. Also depends if he will work with Buckley.
DTM, no idea what Lockyer is doing when I know I will advise.
Also do they coach to win or develope. If it's to win, they best start recruiting some new players. |

^ Tapping would also be a good choice.
Coached Sandy Dragons to the TAC Cup premiership in 2010 or 2011, didn't he? _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

That he did. Also from his bio...
Quote: | Prior to that he coached Old Brighton in the VAFA from 1997 until 2001, winning the flag in his first season and finishing as runner up in 2000. He then coached Old Scotch in the VAFA from 2002 until 2005, taking them to preliminary finals in 2002 and 2003. After a year out of the coaching system, Tapping became an assistant coach with the Western Jets under 18 team in the TAC Cup in 2007. |
Since he's in development anyway, seems the right choice. |
