I would love to see us bust them right down the middle tonight!

Close games rob us of the opportunity to enjoy a proper 'Coooollliinnngggwwwoooooddddd' chant!

um... isn't ANZ stadium narrower than SCG?

So bringing the wings in would make it even less like the SCG...

probably just crawf being stupid.

I think there must be a question mark over the swans, who made it into the top 4 on the back of a very easy fixture, relatively speaking, then beat the other side (Adelaide) who did the same. I'm just not sure they are that good, though they have a huge advantage at home with 2 weeks' break. It'll be close, but i'd back pur class to win.

I'd agree. People giving a little too much credit to the Swans.

IMO Hawks are the best team this year. We are 2nd best. Swans and Crows are a step below.

But Swans have had a longer break (should be fresher, without niggles) and is at their home. So this evens it up. If this was reversed, we'd be clear favorites.

The change was expected with Didak going out and Sinclair coming in. I'm still a little worried about Dawes being in the team as that injury he sustained last week looked serious, but I hope David Buttifant knows what he's doing and Dawes has been selected because he's fitness is up to scratch.

Our record against the Swans is magnificent. Even though Paul Roos says that it's irrelevant, I still think it might play a small role because of the belief the team will have against the Swans. The Swans are a solid outfit, but they always seem to struggle against us for some reason. The 13 day break as opposed to the 6 day break will play in their favour, but I don't expect to see the difference in the duration of breaks until maybe the last quarter if the contest is tight which I expect it to be.

For us to win, we need our midfield to play with the same intensity as they did last week. I think Dale Thomas may well be the x-factor for us and the difference in us winning the game. When Daisy lifted in the 3rd quarter last week against the Eagles, the whole team lifted as a collective. He proved to be the difference is us winning last week against the Eagles. For us to win, we need our defence to be rock solid. Our defence was in particularly solid last week and I expect them to be just as solid this week. We are an excellent side in restricting the oppositions input towards the scoreboard. The only time we've failed to defend adequately against any side this year is against the Hawks on all 3 occasions we've played them this year.

Our overall record against the Swans holds us in good stead, but the Swans will be determined to finally break the duck and maximise their week off and to seal a Grand Final berth. I think the Hawks have already made it next week, so this match will be the one that determines who plays them next weekend.

I think the Pies will be determined in a gutsy and tough match and I can see the experience we have finals will favour us. I think the Pies will edge the Swans by about 15 points.

GO PIES!!!

This is our 7th Preliminary Final in 10 years. We've had it good as supporters I must say.

Don't think Dids is such a big loss. Really hasn't made much of an impact. Still would like to see him come in if we get through. Not many backing the Pies. I like

Disagree emu, I thought in the first half last week Dids was our only player who hit a target and was instrumental in keeping us in it.

If we lose tonight it will be thru poor foot skills causing turnovers. Dids will be missed if so.

Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaarna' Pies! Gettin' pumped now.

She's going to be a tough affair, folks. Would have preferred Dids' ball skills out there, but there's no reason the skills of the Krak, Daisy, Fas and Wellers can't cause sufficient havoc.

A lot depends on us coming out with the attacking mindset we had from half back last week, though things are likely to be a lot tougher and more frustrating against the Swans.

Bodies on the line. Give it all to the final drop of sweat, Pies!
