Yep, Newcastle are safe for another year....under a new manager?

Talk is Pardew is safe for another year, it's not just the managers fault the worry always was going to be going into Europa League without much in the way of depth in the squad. It happened to Stoke and it happened to us.

But we're 60 million dollars better off with the new Broadcast Deal money filtering into the club.

I believe we're safe, but I am still playing it safe until the final day.

Done and dusted. Wigan couldn't save themselves. A home loss to Swansea followed by a 4-1 belting by Arsenal sees them lose the games they had to win and so they are relegated. It's the first time a side has won the FA Cup and got relegated in the same season. No doubt some rather big clubs are now breathing a sigh of relief.

Down - Wigan, Reading, QPR

Up - Cardiff, Hull & Crystal Palace/Watford

Reminds me of Birmingham City winning the League Cup and going down in the same year. Shame for Wigan, but they have been on the edge for the last few years and finally ran out of luck.

Do they still play in Europe because of winning the F.A Cuo?

Yep, Wigan go straight to the group stages of the Europa next season. Sounds great, but it may be more a hindrance than a help. There are 46 games a season in the Championship (8 more than the EPL).
So Wigan will need to add the Charity Shield plus at least six Europa ties to that already. That's now 53 games to be locked in for scheduling compared to the 38 they only had at the start of this current season.
Plus add any League Cup & FA Cup runs (the defense of their trophy)
Its a hell of a burden when just relegated to a combative league like the Championship. Surely Roberto Martinez will go too.
I don't rate their chances of a promotion straight back to the EPL.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to great discussion on this thread. I've really enjoyed the fact that more people are talking about Football (Soccer) more often here. I've really enjoyed updating results and fixtures every weekend when the games are on.

I feel there are certain parts that I may want to improve on next season, but any feedback about this thread would be great, as I'd like to make it even better next season.

Thanks everyone Very Happy

So now it is settled.
Crystal Palace with a 104th minute penalty win the Championship Play Off Final at Wembley and will be the final member of the EPL for 2013-14.
The 90 million pound windfall is there's.
Well done Ian Holloway their manager.
Holloway won the Championship Play Off with Blackpool in 2010
Was unlucky when Blackpool was relegated from the EPL in 2011
Got Blackpool back to the Championship Play Off in 2012 but lose it to West Ham
Now he bounces back again, but this time with Palace. Nice work.

So up go Cardiff, Hull and Palace.

It's happened again, It's happened agaaaiiinnn, Tottenham Hotspur, it's happened again! Haha I love it!

I was hoping to see the Hornets back up too, but Palace are not a horrible alternative. I think next season may be one of the most exciting yet! I think my Gunners finally have a bit of financial weight to throw around with the Puma and (renewed) Emirates sponsorship's, Mourinho should be back with Chelsea (and, no offense Jezz Wink but that could go either way to be honest), Ferguson is out, so United may be weakened, and City will also have some upheaval with a new manager.

i already can't wait!
