Q&A WITH PETER YAGMOOR
Hi Everyone,
Have spoken to the Club and they are happy for us to do a Q&A with Peter to find out a bit more about our sponsored player and how he is going at our favourite footy club.
Could everyone please post their questions in this thread, I will put them together and forward them to the Club, and then post the replies when we receive them.
I will make an executive decision on any questions I don't think are suitable for forwarding!!!
Ask away..... |

My two questions to Peter are:
Q1. Who did you follow as a kid?
Q2. Who was a player you admired most and which player do want to liken yourself to in the future? _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Question might be better phrased as 'Most players seem to leave their team behind when they are drafted, why do you still barrack for Carlton?' _________________ "Are you an angry man? Hmm..
I have a lot of sympathy for AFL players. They can't so much as sneeze without the media making a big thing about it (to say nothing of the reactive fascists at AFL house). Not to mention the risks of injury and the ugly reality that most players will be delisted after three years or whatever it is. No privacy. Your character is questioned by everyone, all the time. You're a piece of meat to dirty old men (he's 191cm, 100kg, a delicious rucking prospect)
I guess my question to Peter would be something along the lines of
'How are you enjoying your AFL career so far?'
In a positive way, of course, but truth be told I can't see why anyone would want to play. |

Peter, I played footy with your dad at St Paul's. He was a tough player.
What advice has your dad given you about playing at the top level?
Your dad is a very keen Carlton man who used to wear his number 20 Carlton jumper to training, how does he feel about you stepping out in black and white??

Peter,
My questions ...
What is your most fondest memory of playing at the Morningside Football Club?
I saw you line up on Andrew McLeod in the Northern Final. What was it like as a youngster lining up on a legend of the game. Did you learn anything from him? _________________ A strong man stands up for himself ... a stronger man stands up for others. |

Thanks for the opportunity.
My questions:
Who is your mentor at the Club and what has been their influence?
Now that you have tasted football at an elite level, what are you working on in terms of your own skill development? |

I'd like him to describe growing up in the Aboriginal community where he lived as a child with a Dad who wasn't Aboriginal and how that worked for him.
On an easier note, who does he think he's like as a footballer and what does he see as his position in the AFL team. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

1. Have you found it difficult coming to Melbourne and playing for the greatest team in the land?
2. When do think you might get another senior game? |

1. Is it hard to deal with the level of public scrutiny directed at football players? Do you make a conscious decision to avoid some or all of internet bulletin boards, newspaper articles and football panel shows?
2. Were you disappointed about how your first AFL game panned out? If so, how did you deal with it? _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

1. What interests do you have outside football?
2. Do you follow any sports other than AFL and if so what teams? _________________ If you are foolish enough to be contented, don't show it, but just grumble with the rest. - Jerome K Jerome |
