I used to love it. I find it a little too sweet nowadays, though. My favourite is Coldstream (a local cider made in the Yarra Valley); the Old Bar used to have it on tap. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

It (Rekorderling) gives me the worst hang-overs.
Like some-one has split my head open with a dull axe.
A friend and I brew our own Apple concoction.
Don't know what the proof is but we call it Appohol.
We have plans to sell the stuff to NASA. |

Am also warming to Tooheys Extra Dry, great local drop. Very smooth. _________________ Buon Giorno |

Grabbed a few Samuel Adams tonight as recommend by others above. A tasty brew indeed. Cheers! _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Still very hard to beat a Kilkenny on tap for reliability.
Health diet and fitness program phase two starting tomorrow, worse luck |

very nice. They have it on tap at the imperial and also at the Nixon ($6 for a pint happy hour on weeknights!). I quite like it. I'm going through a real pale ale phase at the moment. |

I tried Holgate at the microbrewery showcase. Quite good. |

This is probably a very common beer in Germany, but I thought it was okay. |

This evening's offerings below. If you drink the Budejovicky, whatever you do make sure it's not fridge cold; it was tops once the bottle had warmed up a bit. |

Just an average pale ale at an English pub; still, exceptional value at GBP2.80 on tap:

It's quite a tyranny to think what both Australians and South Koreans are deprived of in terms of value for money.

I've lived here for 20 years, and tried nearly every form of bitter going. Fuller's ESB is still the best, for me, of the mainstream mass-market beers. I think you can get it in Dan Murphy's in Melbourne, though it's a long time since I looked. For stout, try Sam Smith's Imperial if you can find it, brewed in Yorkshire and almost a meal in a bottle. It must be where they got the idea for vegemite.
You're right about costs in Australia - makes me weep whenever I am there. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |
