To me, that win on Friday night means a hell of a lot more than any run of the mill win.
We played a team that had our measure last year on all 3 occasions, including the GF.
Mentally - the resillience that we showed towards the end was nothing short of amazing. 1 player on the bench for the last quarter and I knew they were always going to come hard.
We didn't drop our bundles when they drew level - we steeled and kicked 2 more. 2 more that went against the flow of the game.
I'm sure you've all heard of Chapman's "promise" about Hawthorn never beating Geelong again whilst he's in the team. I was beginning to feel that we may have been in the same boat.
Great gutsy win boys. |

It was very meritorious indeed and no doubt will go along way to galvanizing our boys and steeling them for what lies ahead. We just need to negotiate Adelaide then it's time to put percentage into perspective against the suns and the soon be gones. _________________ Genesis 1:1 |

A massive win, in the past we would have lost this, but we showed a lot of jam tart, very proud of the lads, keep it coming. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

Frustrating match but it was a good win.
There were some concerns (Beams and Blair another quiet performance in a "big" game) but apart from Harry and Daisy's form, and another couple of injuries, there wasn't anything particularly diabolical. Should have put them away earlier but losing 2 of our better players in the last quarter was always going to hurt. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

You might be right, MM35. I didn't check stats, it just seemed to me that he wasn't so prominent, this week, and after his awesome last couple of weeks, it just raised that concern. But then, 30 possies isn't really going missing, at all so I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention. _________________ kill for collingwood! |

A great win, every tough match. Some heart shown by many. Very proud, the only negative would be our set shot kicking from a couple. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

The only ones under estimating our Win Friday Night is the Spain/Hiss Production Company: brought to you by 'Wanker Fest United Group'
Great win, and if anyone discounts that we are top 4 material may go and join the above production company. _________________ All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Disgraceful performance!
Other than that we won. Tick. Next. |

8 point game and a massive mental hurdle. Go Pies!!! |
Gee Culs, you are normally relatively defensive of the umpiring standards, when nutters like me are going f*kcing bananas at the TV?

Eddie, thought those two teams belted the absolute shit out of each other last monday with ferocious tackling. I'm not in the least bit surprised they couldn't raise a gallop against their opponents this round.

How stupid is the sub rule? Didak had two injured players sitting next to him while he was fit, just absurd.
Great win though, you can analyse that game all you want but guts and determination and a will to win got us over the line.
6-2, I'll take that. |
Matty, the sub rule brought in by that slag Anderson for absolutely no other reason than to sabotage our finely tuned interchange rotation system. Obviously now, all teams have to roll the dice in fielding the sub player approaching or after 3/4 time, if they haven't already been required to do so out of neccesity. Normally, it works in our favour bringing on fresh legs late in the game, for somebody injured, or team balance. Friday night, probability perhaps failed us for the first time since sub-rules idiotic inception in 2011. Murphy's Law nearly cost us the game in subbing Didak out too early for Simon, when soon after Swan did his hamstring diving for yet another kick which missed its target. And naturally Reid cops another injury trying to contain Dunderklumpen.
