Great to hear from a genuine Collingwood supporter at last. You are no Mug Mr Wump. Go to the Walkabout and reward yourself with untold pints of Victoria Park Bitter.

Jack, Mr Wump's post is one of many, in the14 previous pages, who loved the win and who lauded our gutsy finish.
The others, who say, "Good win but ..." have just as much right to voice those opinions.
Personally, I loved the pure theatre of the night. Each time we threatened to take the game by the scruff of the neck, the reigning champs hit back. They really tested us in those last 10 minutes and we prevailed.
Pendle's last goal and his unbridled elation was memorable indeed.
I wasn't able to find that last minute in YouTube. Anyone got the link ? _________________ Donny.

I see we again lost the free kick count last night. But 1 particular stat was typical of how we are paid frees.
Frees inside 50 meters - Geelong 4 - Collingwood nil |

I wish Perty/Walshy would colate some footage of some of the free kicks that are missed on our boys! Don't go and have a whinge so to speak but to get some fairdinkum answers!
I am sick of being at the bottom of the frees for ladder!
Some of the frees that Jolly was supposed to have given away were farcical!
We hardly ever receive frees for arm chops but I see our forwards and mids cop this week in week out!
It just seems to be two sets of rules, one for the rest of the comp and one for Collingwood.
Enough Collingwood........speak up and ask for a please explain!!! _________________ Never disperse your focus unless absolutely necessary. Face one adversary at a time!

Great win with only 16 players and given the Cats clearly rested up last week and set themselves up for this game. In the end we try to win both games, take 8 points. They set themselves up for only 1 game and end up with 0 points |
Dawes' game was Ok and even included some overhead marks. No reason for him to play VFL. |

Initial reaction was this was a battling win. It was a struggle. It worries me a bit that we cant put sides away when we have the opportunity.
However I have seen the highlights a few times and I think that sells our effort short. In particular given the injuries. I think the win was better than anyone has given us credit for including ourselves. Well done lads.
Compare this to what the bummers did to the Tiges last night which was actually a 'nice' game to watch. Finals arent won using nice football. BTW who did Hirdy sleep with to get that draw - unbelievable.
In regard to the frees I suspect Pert and co are talking to the AFL - they are just not openly bleating about it - which is smart in my view.
In regard to Cloke my view is he is contributing to his own problem. He is not working hard enough. Lead more, move more and the frees wont matter. I actually prefer him moving around away from the goals - more CHF than FF. One of our shortcomings in the end last year was there was too much focus on Cloke and we banged it forward without much thought. We need to get smarter.
On the Jolly situation he needs to stop holding - umpires are simple creatures they will pay a tug of the jumper or a hold of the arm - they can see that. Yet they wont pay all the other illegal tactics that are used cause they cant understand whats going on or who's responsible.
And dont get me started on the amount of incorrect disposal (throws) that are happening at the moment. |

Excellent post.
Look it worked for Essendon and James Hird after he paid a $20,000 fine for criticising the umps a few years back. Hird handed over the money and said how much he liked the maggots. Obviously it worked.
Time Collingwood became pro-active and asked the AFL for an explanation. Otherwise one day an umpire will be attacked (on or off the field). |

Clokey cops it every week. He then get frustrated, gives away a free and/or a 50m penalty and everyone tells us how well his opponent played.
The week before against the Lions, Clokey was raped by McGuire at every contest. What do the bozzo's say after the game? 'Geez McGuire has been a good recruit for the Lions'.
Fast forward to Friday and the 2nd qtr. Clokey kicks his first goal of the game when he soccers the ball through the big sticks. But in the preceding contest, the only reason he did not mark the ball was because he had one of his arms pinned.
You get the feeling the the umpires are of the belief that Dawes and Cloke are big enough to look after themselves.
One rule for us and one rule for everyone else. _________________ "There have been injuries and deaths in boxing, but none of them serious." (Alan Minter) |

Very tough game next week with the injuries. Give it a crack and try to at least protect the percentage. A win would be huge. |
We have two chances of winning in Adelaide next week. Buckley's and none. Make your choice. |
Yeah, I'm sure you said the same thing in the 2002 Qualifying Final. Enter Paul Licuria...
Gee you are as weak as piss. |
Another Collingwood supporter without any sense of humour or irony.
I did say Buckley's chance or none.
Nathan Buckley might just get us over the line. Derrr. |
Yep will give u that one in hindsight was pretty obvious. Harsh but fair on the Derrr. _________________ Buon Giorno |

Not surprised by this stat but it pisses me off no end. Four extra shots at goals and most of them probably 50/50 or less - and should have been probably 6 or more to collingwood's forward but not paid.
And I bet it's the same for every other game this year but would especially love the same stat for the bulldogs game...
How can this possibly be impartial umpiring? |

Where are people watching replays this year? Is there a speccy selector or something? _________________ I would be ashamed to admit that I had risen from the ranks. When I rise it will be with the ranks... - Eugene Debs |
