Where did you hear this? I thought the teams were released later tonight? |
http://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/newsfeatures/news/newsarticle/tabid/5586/newsid/134777/default.aspx
"Buckley said he felt the club had balanced the break between Anzac Day and Friday night's game adequately and the group was in a good state of mind after the rest.
It will be bolstered by the return of Heath Shaw and Ben Reid on Friday night but Alan Didak and Dale Thomas will be kept on ice for at least another week.
Shaw and Reid have missed two games with injury - the former a hamstring sustained at training in the lead up to round four, and the latter the quad he hurt against Carlton.
Didak requires more solid training before consideration while Thomas will play against the Brisbane Lions next Saturday night." |

Dids is out obviously for team structure reasons.
Our team can't structure around guys who kick straight for goals.
Geez don't you guys know anything. |

^^Pretty sure Didak holds the current record for consecutive games without a goal amongst our forwards .
Anyway, seems like the club don't think he's yet fit enough. Given that he struggled last season when playing less than fully fit, I'm supportive of full fitness being a requirement for his return. _________________ Well done boys! |

I have no problems with Didak earning his spot through the seconds. He needs to build his match fitness, and holding him back may allow him to be our x-factor in the second half of the year. |

I like the fact that Buckley is making Didak really work for his recall.
Massive mistake from Mick last year to keep picking Didak when his form didn't warrant it.
IMO apart from a couple of early goals Didak was pretty average with his intensity at the contest last week in the VFL.
It was likely the worst of his three VFL games.
Get him fit, get him hungry and he'll return all the better for it most likely for the grand final rematch in round 8. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

Didak has done more than enough in the VFL the past few weeks to warrant selection.
Unlike Sinclair who has done more, so much more, than enough in the past few weeks to not warrant senior selection.

Team as selected looks a bit top-heavy down back. I would swing one of the talls to CHF. Probably Reid, possibly Lachy K. It would be a beneficial move in the long-term, as it will enhance our flexibility.
Reid has gained so much more poise from his early career, what with AA selection and all, I'd definitely be giving him a crack on the forward line. _________________ Collingwood and cricket umpiring - my life is black and white. |

If Jolly doesn't play, we have Wood play instead. Didn't Minson rack up 55 hitouts against Wood last year?
I'm happy to see Reid and Shaw back in the side. Two important defenders returning is fantastic. After what the Lad said last night, Thomas not being selected was no surprise and this is the 3rd consecutive match in a row where Didak has been overlooked. He isn't even in the emergencies.
The club must be trying to ease him back in smoothly instead of rushing him back. If the club believe his match-fitness isn't up to scratch I'll take their word for it. I just can't wait when he's back. We all want a fit and firing Dids to return. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
