1. Head of Fitness at North Melbourne:

The lowest injury count for 3 years in a row! Sorry Bill, but after 2.5 seasons your sample size marks you as a FAILURE, collision injuries aside!

2. A Ruck Coach: Damien Monkhorst:

Time to bring him home with an "offer he can't refuse". With 3 emerging Rucks on the list with less than 50 matches, it is unfathomable that we use a spare parts Anthony Rocca who played all of 20 minutes in the Ruck in 238 matches!

PS:

While we are at it let's poach Jason McCartney from the Bulldogs and add him to our Recruiting team. Forget the high picks such as the Bont, Stringer and MaCrae, he and the Dogs have nailed the following lower picks such as:

* Tory Dickson
* J Johanssen
* M Adams
* S Biggs
* Ling Jong
* L Dahlhaus (rookie draft)
* E Wood
* M Honeychurch
* C Daniel

Just don't miss!

While I find it bizarre we don't employ a specialist ruck coach full time given our young ruck stocks I don't think Monkhorst would be any more preferable than another suitable candidate.

I don't think Hawthorns continued success can be greatly contributed to Monkhorst.

Yes Yes and Yes…

Give something a go - no point in hanging on to a lot of cash…the AFL will just grab it anyway so the money needs to be spent helping the Pies win flags!

It was bloody obvious for years that we needed a real ruck man to be a flag threat and then Jolly rocks up and voila - a flag! Sometimes it seems so obvious - and it is!

As for Davoren.

My name is Bill and I might be the last person you ever see.

Reportedly that's what he said to Freeman the first time they met.

Surprised he hasn't killed someone yet.

If we're going to bring an ex-magpie home to boost our recruiting I'd prefer that we poach Graham Wright from Hawthorn.

port adelaide was once the flavour of the month and have since been found out. i suspect the dogs might head down a similar path. the eagles are where port were at the peak of their barnstorming run so it will be interesting to see how they fare this year. it doesn't take long for most teams to get found out.

hawthorn, before their era of dominance and snagging an unexpected flag in 2008 finished as follows:

2007 5th
2006 11th
2005 14th
2004 15th
2003 9th
2002 10th
2001 6th

If Bob Murphy retires offer him a job as a skills coach.

Clarkson took over in 2005 and has never missed finals 3 years running.

Malthouse likewise at the pies.

An interesting stat I believe and one I've been thinking of exploring further of late.

I don't understand why we don't hire experienced ex head coaches, as frequently as other teams do. Voss and Ratten supposedly doing well at new clubs, Britten in the past. I'm sure Neil Craig adds something wherever he goes. whilst we haven't chased or landed any of Primus, Rawlings, Sanderson, McKenna, Choco, Watters, McCartney or Neeld. Three of those guys did a great job for us under Mick.

Forget the threat to Bucks... none of the others have torpedoed their head coaches, and I refuse to believe being a HC has diminished their ability to add value. More to the contrary. So how about this for a potential shakeup for the last roll of the dice under bucks...

Ruck & midfield assistance - Primus
Forwards - Rawlings
Defence - McKenna or Watters
2IC - Sanderson
Director of coaching - Ayres or Bomber
