Kirk Ugle follows in the footsteps of teammates Travis Cloke (2005), Sharrod Wellingham (2008) and Brent Macaffer (2009), as well as former Magpies Jason Wild (1995), Craig Jacotine (1999) and Cameron Cloke (2004) as Collingwood players to have debuted on ANZAC Day.
Collingwood goes into the match with a nine-seven lead head-to-head against Essendon since the first ANZAC Day match between the two sides in 1995 when the two sides played a draw _________________ Donny.

It's pissing down, feel sorry for those out in the open.
Might be a few empty seats vacant I reckon. _________________ WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!

It's good line up hopefully they play well. It's great to have Nathan Brown in!
But I don't think Tommy Young should be OUT he played well. And there is a song already made for him. I have a feeling Jolly won't play after all the doubts that were crept in yesterday. I think the club said they would make a decision until this morning. If he goes out Wood will come in.
I really hope Didak can play. He's impressed in the reserves. He must not have been selected because of fitness concerns. I would love to see the return of Didak.
Overall, I can't wait for this match to start. It's a must win game.

I love sitting in the rain.
Some of my best memories at Collingwood games have been in the wet.
The 2002 ANZAC day clash, where Scott Burns simply tore them to shreds (and then he was robbed of the medal by some hack ).
There was a game out at Waverley also, billed as the Daicos vs Ablett show in the early 90's, it was wet, but Brown smashed Ablett and Daicos killed the Cats, it was sensational.
If we win, I won't be complaining about the rain at all.

The rain will help them deal with our talls and their lack of them. Still, we clearly have the better team and will win. Expect wet weather specialists Sidebottom and Blair to feature prominently. _________________ Well done boys! |

It's pouring where I am. I think the rain will be on and off today.
My ANZAC medal prediction is Steele Sidebottom. I've had this feeling he will have a blinder since yesterday. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

I just looked at the radar, doesn't look too bad at the moment. Hopefully the worst of the rain holds off for the game. _________________ #TEAMBUCKS

The forecast was for intermittent rain this morning, and then almost no rain for the rest of the day, although I'll believe that when I see it.
The ground always soaks up the water very well, so even if we get an hours respite prior to the match starting it will be like a dry weather game.
I'm not worried, even our talls play well in the mud, Cloke loves it, Dawes is almost better when the ball hits the ground now and we only have one real tall defender (Brown can play on a medium).
We'll be fine either way. |
