The Tree of Life is the closest thing to genius on the big screen that we have since Ingmar Bergman stopped making films.

This is just another reason we can never be friends.

I'm somewhere in-between, I think. There were parts of the film that I found absolutely mesmerising, but I found the whole 'mum' fetish and afterlife sequences at the end a little too much. I think I'd like to see it again, though.

Here's a link if anyone's interested.

500 favourite films? I couldn't name 500 films I've seen.

I think 'anal' may be a nice word for me. Embarassed

I think I've called you that b4 Twisted Evil

some one mentioned Grand Torino, love that one.

And the thin red line.

Babel creeped me out, don't like that kind of theme.

Shawshank redemption, absolutely amazing. Watched many times.

David, I didn't get far down your list sorry, I can't read French! Or what ever the languages are

As for Bill and Ted, Excellant!

As for my number 1, I guess I have seen that on the big screen several hundred times - somehow, it just never pales or gets tired from where I am sitting. And Cousin James - well, as Jake says: "Jesus-H-God-blasted-Christ, I have seen The Light".

TP, I can't believe I forgot Conair. I have watched it about a dozen times on Foxtel in the past 2 months.

F&F is good and Die Hard 3 is good with Jesus, 4 not so much. Bruce was looking a bit old

Much closer to my tastes. And def like the addition of the Rocky and Rambo movies.

Couple of additions,

Caddyshack
Cobra
Big trouble in little China
Escape from New York / LA
Pale Rider
Hang em High
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
Under Siege (1 and 2)
Delta Force (1 and 2)
Cheech and Chong the Corsican brothers / Up in Smoke
Alex de Renzy's Babyface
The Crow (the original with Brandon Reed)
Next of Kin
Roadhouse

You may notice a trend there. Embarassed
