Should we be looking for some mature depth in the draft this year?
From the current list, if I were making decisions based on today's effort, Young and Buckley would be out of a job, for starters...

Our method going forward is the same every time & the roosters know it.
Bomb it to the 15-20 meter mark & hope a tall marks it. No variety at all we do the same thing every time & they run it out every time. We can't have 4 ruckman playing in the same team. |

After all the "hoo haa" about us getting serious about making finals for the VFL to help our senior team, we have started the season with consecutive losses and sound fairly average and have no depth. What is the point of making bazillions every year if we have continually pathetic efforts and results by the magoos? Season 2012 started terribly by both sides, should not be glossed over.

I posted in another thread an analysis of our bottom 20 players. It is in my opinion very worring reading. Our 20-21 year olds are almost a write off. Our Woods and Buckleys have been hugely disappointing (especially Wood who cost a round #1 draft pick) and in general I cannot see a lot to support our expectation of a dynasty.
I am surprised we have started in such pathetic fashion the VFL season, disappointed in the lack of readiness of our fringe AFL players, and generally concerned. We seem to have hit the wall with regards to our late and rookie draft picks in the last few years which was a feature of our 2010 premiership side - rookie and late draft picks who were very good players. Losing McCarthy and Davis is hurting us badly as well, but that is salary cap pressure for you.
Young, Rounds, Sinclair, Buckley, Wood, etc etc - can we really win a premiership with our current listed players from say 25-33? Not on your nelly, Travis Kelly!

Why Sack Buckley who done a Good Job with the AFL while this looks like the 2nd Season for Sucking in the VFL for Lockyer.

That's what worries me Dave. FFS is our recruitment and list management really as good as everyone thinks? I hope I am missing something. In Hine we trust, I bloody hope so.

I guess we need to wait for the mid season review of our list Dave. Maybe Lockyer just doesnt have the cattle.
