Maybe if you live at home. If you don't, you're going to have to support yourself through working at least three shifts a week. If you're a full-time student, that means you practically never have a day off. That was my situation last year; working full-time feels like a bludge in comparison.

Yeah, I hear yah on that. I was working Thursday night, Friday night and all day Sunday at McEwans Hardware (now owned by the evil Bunnings). and doing a double degree.

(1) I didnt have to look after myself at home
(2) I made life easy for myself by knowing what to study and what to drop, and avoided all extra curricular BS activities like student unions and the like. Why do that rubbish when you can play a round of golf or watch Platoon stoned for the 40th time?

Platoon stoned?

Could be interesting!

Actually being stoned could be!

Does it work drunk?

Just had to have a D&M with the boy about his fiancee, The Captain, who's acute laziness is doing my head in.

A couple of months ago she wound him up to have a go at me about his sister not pulling her weight, despite the fact that she was working full time and the Captain was home all day, it was felt that the daughter should be doing more. I said I'd talk to the daughter and it appears that was taken as a green light for the Captain to down tools.

So I got him out the front and explained my frustration and asked him to talk to her because if I didn't see a behavioual change very fkn soon I'd be the one doing it and I wouldn't be gentle about it.

Hard conversation, she's actually a good kid and he's very much in love but she aint giving me anything so I don't have to put up with this shit.

Unfortunately, I have a voice that carries very well, even when I talk quietly (which I was) and she heard every word I said.

Ah well, saved him telling her I guess.

Lola and I woke up at 10AM and stayed in bed until about 6 yesterday. Now that's laziness.

Yesterday, oldest daughter wakes at around 12, has a leisurely brunch. Messes up the kitchen, eats on the floor in the lounge, uses a plate but why? theres not a crumb on it, its all on the floor i just swept. Put her bathers on, Goes to my ridiculously tidy laundry cupboard, doesnt take the top pool towel, takes one from the middle, and messes up my perfectly stacked towels.

has a swim, lays by the pool. comes in for a snack and walks water through to the kitchen. Then sits in the pool, with her ice cold drink and drops chips in the perfectly spotless pool that i vacuumed at 6 in the morning!
So, an hour or so later im just finishing up washing the floor, when she walks water through the door and sighs, big big big sigh, huge! "Ugh Mum, do you have a hair tie?"
"yeah sure honey, ill just drop the mop, run upstairs and get you one!" i think not!!

This child once slept with a coat hanger in her bed for 3 days!

Ahhhhh!...you just described my teen-age years...

Thanks for the stroll down memory lane Jo! Razz
