Bought a smoker box today and a rib rack.

Tried it out tonight with beef ribs on the BBQ, hood down and smoker box over the heat.

Damn, tasty. Put some corn on the cob in the rack as well, soaked in butter. The smoke flavour went right through them too.

Too much work, just ash on the ribs and corn and save time.

That's how they come up with Burger Rings, someone ashed in the cheezel mix.

Did a lamb vindaloo for dinner. May have slightly over done the heat, but still very tasty.

Daughter was going to the BF's place for the night and doesn't eat lamb anyway, I got her to taste the sauce (she's got a good tolerance), so after a teaspoon of sauce she starts to say it tastes good, then her eyebrows took off and her eyes opened wide. At that moment I was worried, but she recovered.

The son's GF has a low tolerance. I said to her there was left over stir fry if the curry was too hot, she vowed she would eat the curry. And she did. Top effort.

Then straight after finishing she curled up on the couch in a ball and said her stomach was making weird noises and gurgling.

I may well have to fumigate their bedroom tomorrow.

Having a go at knocking up some Texas Caviar. Rehydrating the Black Beans and Black eyed peas atm.

Apparently these beans can cause flatulence. Once mixed with chilli, the other ingredients and spices, could be interesting. Cool

Trunk Restaurant in the City tonight - oldest daughter's 23rd birthday.

http://www.trunktown.com.au/food-menus

Slow cooked lamb, mixed anti pasti for entree, tap Kirin beer & a coffee to finish.

Others had duck breast, porterhouse, King George whiting.

Very nice.

had an omelette for dinner, different style, same principle as my old man used to make. You won't buy this anywhere at a fancy food joint but it works just fine.

Heat a small fry pan (6 inch) to low and spray with some oil

beat 3 or 4 eggs like they owe you money, pour into the fry pan.

Tip in whatever additives make you happy. I used some diced cherry tomato, spring onion and some grated parmesan cheese, plus some "Slap your mama" cajun seasoning. I've also used diced jalapenos, diced ham, grated tasty cheese, pick what you like.

Cover with a lid and cook till it rises and is cooked through. Comes out like a thick fluffy egg pancake.

Serve with whatever the **** turns you on, side salad, sausages, bacon, whatever. I just had it tonight with some buttered light rye toast.

Senfuckingsational. Cool

Got some salad on Tuesday and some meat, threw it in the fridge with the aim of "Oi, cook your own meat, make your own dinner".

Tinight I grabbed some extra meat on the way home, daughter took off to the supermarket to get I forget what and rang me, " would you like Tacos for Dinner?"

Me, if someone else cooks it, hell yeah.

Sold. I'm having tacos for dinner. Any uncooked meat can go in the freezer before the best before date no dramas and left over salad gets me a dirty look from the dog but doesn't go to waste.

Sound good.

Popped up to the hoppers club for a quick counter meal. It's been done up. When I ordered I shoulda known. The guy couldn't use the cash register to order the meals, it took him a good 10 min, I was desperately looking for someone to help him, and then read his tag, duty manager!

My daughters meal came, salad dressing on the side, but sauce smothering her chicken. Ugh. Too late, too much hassle, the manager goes, oh there's sauce on the chicken, I said I'll use a napkin. My steak wasn't bad, the pepper sauce yum, nice veggies, still crisp,

But I reckon the place was better before!

Back to the good ol west side, at least you can use discount vouchers there!
