The Eddie Interview..THREAD..its pretty good stuff

Myself and jenelle were absolutely delighted when eddie gave us the ok for this interview seeing that we are not journalist we really didnt know at first what type of questions to ask ed infact for a day or two we were really concerned, it was then decided we would probe into the magpie passion of eddie and believe me this guy oozes with collingwood passion, we had to be careful and not get to personal with our questions and offend we respectfully acknowledge eddie is a private person.

We stayed away from the everyday football questons that eddie faces we didnt want this to be just a carbon copy interview from some other moment in time.

We asked eddie a question of who he would like to invite for dinner ( living or deceased ) i reckon his number one pick will suprise you.

For an hour and a half we chatted and had coffee while the tapes were running..eddie is no different to the rest of us ( he bleeds black and white )in another question we ask eddie from 'broadmeadows to toorak' which he interupted and replied ( yeah but im still the same person ) if eddie wasnt the person he now is he would be down the cheer squad wrestling the gold jacket of yours truly..Im sure this interview (i hate the word interview its too formal) im sure you will find this chat with eddie will somehow find yourself closer to him in the sense that his dreams of collingwood glory are very much the same as the magpie army's.

Im just a bloke in the inner north of melb and jenelle is just up the road and for an hour or two we both sat with the most influential football person in Australia the person who ressurected the collingwood football club it will be a short moment in our lives we will never forget.

Just to add, about the Eddie interview.

I gave one of the guys at work a read of some of the interview. This guy is one who had stood in the Glenferrie outer for 40 years - Hawthorn through and through and never had a real great love for Eddie.

He basically said "Jenelle, I see this man in a whole different light now - he is so passionate and just loves his club and football so much... he is just like us."

Exactly.
