BRUNO ITALIANO from South Fremantle was taken at 46 in the National Draft of 1991. Lasted one training session before he was sent packing back to Perth where he even failed to make an impact at WAFL level.

Rod Gladman (1990 draft)from East Ballarat was probably stiff never to make the grade.

Never swap a small for a tall (Bad Luck Tigers)!

Crackers Keenan in his book "Black and White" has a great chapter on duds that were picked during the time he was at Collingwood.
My all time dud was Matty Ryan--Promised so much but delivered so little.

another player that looked the goods for a while but never delivered was Craig Jacotine, was even hailed as our future captain at one stage (thats how bad things were a few years ago). However I do think he was very stiff to be let go when he was.

It has to be Aaron James.
I think I saw him play 1 good game when were getting flogged by Richmond. He managed to take 3 marks.

If that's all there is my friend, then lets keep dancing.

I remember a huge fuss being made about one Michael Horsborough. A very tall, gangly, unco guy from the bush. Played about one game. Considering all the hype at the time I'd say he'd be up there. I'm talking about the Haffey era in case any of you young'ns don't know of him.

A bloke called Lee WALKER, I think, came from WA, tall forward or around the ground ruckman, was injured quite a lot, never seemed to put in 110%, did everything half hearted. Another hopeless case we no doubt paid big dollars for.

Does anyone out there remember John BOURKE(?), only made the seconds, snotted an umpire and then proceeded to jump the fence and get it on with someone in the crowd, was banned for life, please enlighten us if you have any more details.

In terms of ability Lee Walker was a gun....A mobile player who moved like a gazelle. The few games he did play he was in our best players most times.

hE ACTUALLY had talent

Symonds picked on potential for the fifth year running ;)

To be great is to be misunderstood

Essendon 2000 premiers
2001 runners up
2002 fifth
2003 ????
The slide continues

Kerry Foley allegedly beacame the best full back in the VFA, but while he was at the Pies, I am sure that he was there for comedy relief. Incidentally, the player who inherited his number was slightly better performed - one Macedonia Marvel - P. Daicos.

Sandy Hyslop and Brian Cole could play chess.

I agree JLC - if he had've had two good knees instead of two dodgy ones, well he played HFF and Rocca was CHF I tell you what - that guy could rove the ball as well as Burnsy, and take a mark like Rocca. Only problem was he could only do it for 15 minutes a season til he needed another recon...

great tallent though
