Round 1 Richmond - you add the next line

You know how its done - add one or two lines to the existing commentary to build up a complete game over time.

Try to limit yourself to not more than one passage of play, and we may need to let the poor tiges score occaisionally. You know what they say - visualise what you desire and it might just happen.

I'll start:

"Welcome to the start of the AFL season at the home of football, with Pies keen to build on their successful 2002 season and the Tiges needing to make amends after promising much in 2001."

"Umpire Allan checks with the captains and holds the ball aloft. As the siren sounds, he moves in to bounce. Over to you Dwayne...."

"I am disrespectful to scum! Can you see I am serious!"

...........yes, a great atmosphere, capacity crowd here at the G, McKEE gets first touch, the ball hits the deck, scooped up by LICURIA who hits ROCCA on the chest with a grass burning left foot stab pass which nearly knocked him over. I know its early on(DUH!!!), but gee they look sharp the MAGPIES, ROCCA will line up on a 45 degree angle and kick from about 60 metres out.

Bang goes the bloody sherrin as the kmart merchandise wearing bitchmond crowd errupts...stunning steve mckee attacks the leather with a handpass to the running cole...running past is Bo nixon oh great play Bo nixon..hes streaming into half forward along long kick into the goal square..fraaassseeeerrrrrr frassssseeeerrrrr has taken a screamer in the goal square this is unbelievable i have never seen a mark like this oh my goodness we may allready have mark of the year in the opening 20 seconds of round 1..Fraser goes thank you very much first goal to the maggies in the opening 20 seconds if you dont mind!!!

Eddie here. My apologies to the viewers. I may have become a little over excited when Umpire Allan reversed the mark to Rocha for alleged holding off the ball. I think we may have missed a few seconds of the broadcast when I hit the dump button

To bring you up to speed, Matty Richardson of the Tigers took the resultant free kick, only to tear his hammy in the act of kicking and turn the ball over to Stunning Steve McKee.

The subsequent passage of play you have already seen.

Sorry folks for that brief break in transmission...McKee taps the Sherrin down to Betheras, who in turn gives off a quick handpass to Ben Johnson who then stabs to BUCKLEY!!!! The Magnificent Nath marks the ball easily on his chest, runs on, around Cameron, then ducks back to his right, around Gaspar, then kicks from 60m, and it sails through for a GOAL!!!!! Another goal to the PIES and yes folks, the PIES ARE ON FIRE AT THE G TONIGHT!!!!
