Got 1 goal already in the All-stars game, up to half time.
But then I may even get a goal against the filth at this point in time!

I'm looking forward to seeing Richard Cole this year. When he gets the ball he looks silky smooth. If he can work on his kicking a bit,I think he'll step up this year. Should be a big improver.
We are one,we are Collingwood ...

He will generally improve and has too. Turning the game on it's head when he plays? I doubt it. Any improvement will be a bonus. His aim is to play in the seniors all year, so je isn't getting ahead of himself.

He needs another year in the reserves. I expect him to only play if we have alot of midfield injuries.
Hard at it. The Collingwood way. |

Richard Cole will certainly be given his opportunity in the ones this year and then it is up to him.
I beleive he has all that is required to be a top flight player, just that at this stage he is still a little raw and a few things to learn that will only come with experience.
We were on recon in a steaming Mekong delta, a momentary lapse of concentration allowed Charlie to get the drop on us. I spent the next three years in a POW camp, forced to subsist on a thin stew of four kinds of rice. I came close to madness trying to find it here in the States, but they just cant get the spices right... |

you need to earn your spot in the Collingwood side....if he gets a chance he deserves it....whether or not he takes that chance is up to him.....last year he did not.....hopefully that will give him the extra bite that he needs to take the next step...

At the moment I don't rate Cole highly, simply because I haven't seen enough of him to rate him highly. Having said that, last season he showed he has the 'potential' to be a top player, so hopefully he will improve this season.
Remember he is only young. Don't put too much pressure on the bloke.

No doubt the lad can get the ball. Hard at it and great evasive skills, but the worse disposal I've seen in a long time. Think a young Lica,Johnno,Dimma.
Remember the Geelong game at the G. I cringed every time he got it because if he decided to kick, it would end up, at best, being a 50/50.
Geez he can get it alright! but at this level that's only half the job, this part of his game is a glaring weakness that, if not improved, will see him spend more time with Willy than he would like.Of course, others in the meantime will push ahead of him in a very competative environment.
The kid has talent as evidenced by the effortless way he moves around the field to hunt the ball. We have definately got a Rolls Royce but he has to improve.Lica did and Johnno did and Dimma? Cole must.

Very hard to judge a kid who was very much "thrown to the wolves" in a game where the entire backline were under the pump by Geelong's midfield and forwards.
One game does not make a season, nor should it make up our minds about a first-year player. If you had seen his goal against Carlton for the All-Stars on Saturday night, perhaps your views of his kicking skills would have changed immediately.

I must admit Richard Cole didn't impress me at all last year really, but i did see a couple of good things. I say play him early in the season and see how he goes, if he struggles put him back in the ressies for a while. As others say, he's only young and should be given a little slack.
