I just saw Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers last night and am wondering if anyone else noticed the special cameo of Kevin Bartlett in the film? By the way, what is the general response to the flick? Thumbs up?

My only complaint is that the films are not long enough. It is really obvious that someone has gone back and edited as much as they think they could to get the runnning time down.

The person who did this editing, or the person who ordered this additional editing, needs to be hung, drawn and quartered. The quarters are to be hung outside the major studios so that movie exec's will hesitate before frigging with the story of Lord of the Rings again.

I have seen the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring, and recommend that to everyone.

Rule 1. Barrack for Collingwood
Rule 2. See rule 1.
Rule 3. There is no rule 3.

May the Magpies Prosper!

I kinda agree there greg, moreso with the two towers, its so engrossing i lost track of time and was fully absorbed. But they are already 3 hour flicks, thats a long movie for the public who are not so 'tolkienised' as some. Me, i could've easy sat through another hour or so, but many, and their bladders, could not.

Hi folks. Long time, no something something.

Hope you all had a safe and Merry Christmas and new year.

I just wanted to stick up for Jackson and his editing team.
The theatrical version is intended for the general public. A running time of much more than 3 hours is just not plausible for a variety of reasons and, as Jackson has said in the past, the popularity of the DVD format allows the crew to go back and put back the extra scenes that they were unable to include the first time around. Certainly, they wouldn't have stood for New Line coming in and making wholesale cuts of their own.

If they had tried to, there would have been an uproar. Jackson's putting a decade of his life in to the project, after all.

Oh, and the Two Towers is brillant, eh?

P.S. No doubt there'll be Special Editions when the movies go to Video/DVD.

With the eyes, Smeagol/Gollum looks like Mark McGough, (and I nicked him Smeagol early last year).

Cam, after a lengthy search just to get my bad KB joke across, I stumbled upon this site for the Gollum image:

http://movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc&id=1800294245&cf=gen&intl=us

Unfortunately that is really the only image. I wonder if anyone out there knows of a good web site for Lord of the Rings images.
