I woke up yesterday morning to the phone ringing. HMMMMMM...I thought, who could be ringing at this hour as I took a bleary eyed peek towards my alarm clock...SHIT...It's 6:20, I was supposed to be at work at 6:00.
"Hello, I muttered into the phone, as the bloke I was supposed to relieve said, where the ^&$$# are you?
Sorry Mate I said, ...the alarm didnt go off, I'm on my way...
Rushed into my work clothes, grabbed my car keys and out the door......Oh no... &%&$$#@!@! Flat tyre, my day was off to a pearling start.
Driving to work, I was picked up by a cop coming the other way, booked for doing 121kms in 110km zone.... $100 fine...
At lunch time, I went grab my lunch out of my work bag... yep.. forgot it!
The rest of the day went okay, but I should've called in sick.
I could have had a sleep in, fixed my flat tyre at my own leisure, had a decent lunch and saved $100.!!
Anyone else had a worse day??

What is it about alarm clocks!! Did the same thing, woke at 5 to nine, realised sh!t late for supervision of my school cricket team at a carnival. Rushed straight to the grounds (and wasn't booked, thats important), got hideously sunburnt (2nd layer is peeling off as we speak, so much for setting a good example for the kids), had to leave the car at the oval so i could be on the bus on the way home - there was no registered teacher on it on the way in coz i was late, very naughty. Missus picks me at back at school, and i get done by a camera cruisin at 77 in a 60 zone (it was an 80 that turned into a 60) on the way home. Later that night worst migraines (sunstroke) i've ever had, and no panadols in the house.
BLOODY ALARM CLOCKS! Not as bad as yours BJ but bad nonetheless

Well my worst day occured a couple of years ago...it was a shocker!!!
Weather....It had been raining...no pouring all week and this was the worst day...weather wise of the lot!
It all started the night before at a girls place....I tried some moves and got rolled badly....It was getting late and I wasn't getting anywhere so I decided to head home.....naturally my car wouldn't start....I ended up sleeping in the car....I later discovered it was the starter motor
I have to get it towed but my father decided he would come and tow me.....6 busted ropes later and several near misses on warragul road and I was home.....
1 angry father and 1 expensive bill coming up for my dead vehicle
I was a footy umpire back in those days and got dropped off....the ground was an absolute Bog....not a blade of grass in sight...I didn't pack my footy boots that morning so I ended up wearing only runners .....yes I went Arse over tit about 5 times...the crowd loved seeing the ump on his butt....however I was not impressed.....completely covered in mud and wet......
the game finished in an almighty brawl (like I could be bothered)...it turned nasty and some of the parents did not hold back with the verbals....
I was very thankful to be home, and then realised it was my mothers birthday...opps forgot the pressie....in the shits with both parents now...
Just as we were cutting the cake....my Part time work called and said I was supposed to be there 40 minutes ago
I explained that I was never given that shift and couldn't get there anyway.....they said come in and do the close or don't bother coming in again ....real nice!
so my dad...already sick of driving me around and towing me all over town said I could take his car.....job saved
On the way home down the South Eastern....at 2am in pouring rain a chap decided it was best to drive at 30km's without any lights on ...well you would think I would just run up his ass
....but NO....I tried to avoid him....because my dads car had power steering...and my old tank did not...the avoiding of Mr 30kms ended up with myself driving through the mediam strip on the freeway crashing through some trees (and I thought SHIT my dad is going to KILL me....he washes and wax's the car every weekend)
The trees would not be my problem....the car a brand new (had the car for 3 months) Ford falcon station wagon then proceeded to smash through the barriers and head down a smallish ditch....
the car then became airbourne......bugger me
I landed on the other side of the freeway in the middle lane and the landing was worse then Bangkok airways....I lost three wheels and the dog box was taken clean off by the poles that hold up Ferntree Gully Road....Eventually after a more skidding and sparks the car came to a stop on the opposite side of the freeway up the embankment on a 45 degree angle....
I was going to be in the shits BIG TIME.....I got out of the car and some kind people stopped and asked if anyone was still alive
Within 5 minutes there was three police cars, an ambo, fire and tow trucks....I was carted off to the hospital for tests...But I was fine....it took them 6 hours to get my parents number....
the damage to the car was $26,500....my golden child status was lost
Unfortunately just before the accident I was considering buying a coke from the servo....but I decided to save my $1.50....
Overall it was my worst day by a street.....or should I say freeway??

I WILL NEVER AGAIN COMPLAIN ABOUT HAVING A BAD DAY!!!
You poor bastard PP03. Hope things have/do improve!!!
My mate has been seeing a girl who is a theatre/surgery/trauma nurse at the Alfred. When I or my mate has a bad day, someone just gets upset, if my mates girlfreind has a bad day someone dies. I regularly think of that just to remind myself that thingfs arent as bad as they seem.

PP2003, You win, hands down, if I think I'm having a bad day again, I'll just remember your tale of woe.

One of my favourite sayings is
"Keep Smiling" it gets me through....
PS the car was a company car and my father's work was not impressed as it was not covered for myself driving....
Needless to say he lost his job within three months ....
He has never let me drive any of his cars since ....

PP2003, man that is a tough day at the office ay!
well 1 of my worst days would have to be the grand final! but coming from a BIG [snip] family ive heard some crazy stories that u couldnt even imagine about WW2 and all sorts of things that my family have been up to in there long lives! I swear, after hearing stories that my grandfather has told me about the WAR just makes me realize how easy ive got it around hear! to look at my grandmother when she had cancer and was dying and it was hailing and it sounded like gunshots and she died that night from the memory of the war, and extreme pain! that was probebly the worst night of my life!

What a day, Pies Premiers 2003. Could make a good film though, or an ad for Coke.

Rule 2. See rule 1.
