Post subject: Was Taz's kick in the GF touched? | |
|
Now before some of you go on about this being old news, and it wouldn't change the result anyway, etc, etc, etc. Yes and yes, and as far as I can remember this has not been discussed in earnest here. I'd just like to know your opinion, which I can probably guess.
So was Taz's kick touched? You know which one I mean. I have watched the tape a few times and my opinion is that it wasn't. Unfortunately the camera angles are not great, but if you freeze frame the close in shot of the replay of the kick, I reckon the ball was long gone before Chris Scott comes into the picture. Taz seemed to loft the ball when he kicked it, and I think the ball was over Scott’s outstretched hands. He appeals to that maggot Allen and he deems it to be touched.
Please try to be as objective as you can.
If anyone has talked to Taz and asked him, I'd be interested.

I haven't seen the tape, but I was in the northern stand, so I had a reasonable view of it. it may have been touched, but we thought at the time that the player on the mark actually moved from the mark, so it should have been a 50 metre penalty

Anthony I understand your points, but it's important to stay on topic. Those points have been done to the ground. What do you mean Taz was dancing on the ground
(i.e. RAPPED), oh you mean raped. Sorry.

I don't know but I do remember he dobbed one right through the middle in the last round against the doggies and the ump said it was touched so when it happened again in the GF I couldnt believe it.
Now either the umpires have brilliant eyesight or someone within the umpires fraternity brought it to the attention of the umps that he gets close to the man on the mark.

I can't tell from the GF replay.
Conveniently there seems to be no other footage of this or Ants goal either.

I reckon it wasnt touched. I've only seen it once and that was Grand Final day. I have fox footy channel and they play it all the time and i turn off tv straight away. I can't watch it! Im crazy, i know! But i just cannot watch it. I cried too much that day!
Lol my best friends since grade 2 and year 7 have never seen me cry. I knew Rach & Sheree for like 6 months and they saw me bawling my eyes out!
Love always, Alyssa xoxo

and was Simon Black's throw a throw?
Mick Malthouse said at the Copeland Trophy that since he arrived at Collingwood he was sick of hearing about Wayne Harmes; and he didn't want to worry about whether Anthony's kick was a goal etc etc. His point was,if we keep making excuses we'll never improve.
I have no idea whether Taz's kick was touched but I know this; 5
minutes later he had another chance and he missed it completely.
Brisbane rushed the ball downfield and Jonathon Brown kicked a goal from the boundary line. A minute later Voss got a goal and the three quarter time siren went. It was that 2 minutes that cost us the premiership.
The boys were magnificent but I think it demeans them to make excuses. Back to Malthouse; he also said "we played a team that only kicked 10 goals for the entire game and we couldn't beat them. Obviously we need to improve."
