Hey all i know this isnt related to collingwood stuff but i need ppls help k & the General Discussion board gets heaps more visitors.... I'm looking to move to Melbourne & i wanna know what real estate agents there r down there so i can look for flats/units if neone could help with Melbourne Real Estate agents it would b such a help thank u in advance lv always

Flat hunting in Melbourne can be a major pain, depending on your circumstances. Rental prices are ridiculous in most inner suburban areas and real estate agents often want all sorts of references.

If you've rented before and been reliable in paying your rent ... and you've got a steady job and an income that you can verify in writing, you might have some hope of getting a place, provided of course that you're willing to pay the completely over-the-top rents that these criminals demand.

And for some stupid reason it's fashionable in Melbourne for rents to be paid monthly ... in advance, of course. Bond is usually equal to a month's rent. So whatever the rent is, you multiply that by eight ... and that's how much money you'll need to get into the place. Of course, if you want phone and electricity as well ... that'll cost you a bit more.

A one-bedroom flat in the inner suburbs will set you back $120 per week (if you're lucky) and a whole lot more if you're not. So that's near enough to $1,000 just to get started.

Sorry to be so negative ... just warning you of what to expect. There are plenty of good reasons to move to Melbourne, but accomodation prices are NOT one of them.
