man what a team. all we need is for Ant to kick on after his brilliant Grand Final and Tazza to be over his hip/knee whatever it was injury and we are gonna be hot to trot.
i think i would go with
B: Burns Wakelin Lonie
HB: Cloke Presti Clement
C: Scotland Woewodin McGough
HF: Didak Rocca Betheras
F: Fraser Tarrant Leon
R: McKee Buckley Licuria
Inter: O'Bree Johnson Molloy Lockyer
Emerg: Steinfort Williams Freeborn
I'd definitely start Rupe in the forward line - he just fights so hard to keep the ball in, gets front and centre and kicks key goals. McKee can still do a job and hopefully Josh will come on enough and get over his OP completely to do some work in the centre. McGough will be a star as will Scoots - just gotta play em.
Hard at it. The Collingwood way. |

DAVIDSON SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER MARK THAN TAZZA
COLE HAS A LONG WAY TO GO , IN GAMES I HAVE SEEN HIM PLAY HE GETS CAUGHT SHORT NOT A QUICK THINKER AND GIVES PILL AWAY EASILY.
GETTTTTTTTTTTT A TAPPPPPPPPPP RUCKMAN . BRISI STUFFED US ONLY BECAUSE KEATING WAS IN CONTROL OF BOUNDARY IN FINAL STAGES.FRASER HAS NO CENTRE /BOUNDARY RUCK SKILLS AND NEVER WILL . IF HE PLAYS IN THE 20 TO 50 METER ARC HE CAN KICK 3 GOALS A MATCH HE IS A NATURAL FORWARD.ROCCA MUST ALWAYS PLAY IN THE FORWARD LINE . HE IS OUR BEST RUCK OPTION BUT HE CAN KICK GOALs.the other ruckmen in the team are at best journeymen. REMEMBER TO WIN YOU NEED TO KICK MORE GOALS THAN THE OPPOITION. DIDAK WILL TAKE OVER VERY WELL FROM NICK/OFF.
JUST THE START OF MY COMMENTS TO COME .WAIT TO LEARN

Fraser has no prospects as a ruckman eh? gotta disagree with you on that one.
I would have woewodin on the wing and lonie off the HBL, like coxogenator, but would have MCG instead of scots, minor issue they will be dealing with all year.
Williamstown will be premiers no doubt about that!!

I continue to be frustrated by people who insist that Fraser is a ruckman. But I am more frustrated that people and selectors prefer to lock Leon up in the forward line.
He should be thrown onto the wing and just told to play footy. He can run, he can kick - he can create so many oportunities for others and he can kick the odd goal - he should be allowed to play a Ricky Barham style game. Let him create havoc up the ground.

I must have changed my mind about 10 times! It's great to have such a flexible, talented team with depth! Of course it depends on who we're playing and match-ups but maybe:
B: Burns, Presti, Clement
HB: Cloke, Wakelin, Lonie
C: Scotland, Woewodin, Lockyer
HF: Betheras, Rocca, Didak
F: Fraser, Tarrant, Molloy
R: McKee, Buckley, Licuria
Inter: O'Bree, Johnson, McGough, Davis
Emerg: Steinfort, Williams, Freeborn, Holland
GO PIES!

Fraser as a ruckman? Does anyone remember a young lad named Peter Moore? It was said he had no rucking prospects. He was a tall skinny blonde kid with a fantastic footy brain, great skills and mobility, he just needed more strength. He was played in the forward line while we persevered with him in the Ruck. He wasn't much good in those early years in the Ruck, but showed plenty up forward. The call was he wasn't a Ruckman. His game in those early years was very similar to Frasers. If Josh follows the same path, I know I'll be happy! Remind me also where David Cloke made his name while at Richmond? I know it wasn't in the Ruck

Fraser is going to be a great ruckman but it all takes time, we lose nothing with him being in the forward line and rucking as needs be, and increasing his rucking in time. The only way he will learn is to ruck in matches. People who say he has no rucking prospects need to remember that it takes time to learn to ruck at AFL level, and it takes time to develop a body that will be able to compete effectively in the ruck at AFL level. Fraser is building up that body, and refining rucking, but it takes time.
In the mean time I don't mind if he continues to kick goals, but don't count him out of being a ruckman in the future.

Probably my last post for a few months?????
The new line up looks AWESOME.
To me it looks like a FLAG for 2003.
I recon that Woewodin will be a great replavement for Davis,so where is all the trouble.
I dont mean any disrespect for Davis,But I recon that we have hit the jackpot and theres no going back.
catch you all later.

I think everyone is forgetting that we have two drafts still to come. Over the last few years we always seem to have some very good first years coming through (thanks to Noel J)
Just ask yourself: This time last year, did I know who Mark McGough was? Of course, now we do, and we know just how goo dhe can be.
I have to admit though, it is still fun to play around with the lineups. I'd just rather wait at least til the November draft.
