ive just heard that it is now 99% sure that northerly will not run in the melb cup,but will be freshened and run in the fruit and veg and the cox stakes in perth in dec.
both wfa races.he will be paying $1.05 at best.
so paulie get your quaddie money ready for the WA quad those days.
one leg is a certainty.
and paulie if you had the $126 on northerly itself you would have won more than your quaddie paid.
thats what i mean by minimising the risk.

I didnt think Northerly would run as the Melbourne Cup is a gruelling race. Not even Might and Power had to carry 60kg and he bolted in the Caufield Cup
The big mistake as Shane Templeton pointed out in paper was running Fields of Omagh in Cox Plate. They should have started him in the Melb Cup. At the weight he was carrying he would have been a great chance!!! He will never get such a light weight again.
Northerly doesnt have a great record in Perth does he as he always gets handicapped out of race ?? What happened to Old Comrade ??

Thanx for that Ed.I can see where you are coming from with miminizing my risk by backing The WA champ for the win.But I perfer to try and go for a decent size quaddie pool when having a bet.But I do try and take as much risk out of it as possible by covering as many combinations as possible. And by doing as much form as I can also backing Champs like yours from the west helps.
