My Condolences go to those who have lost someone in the Bali tragedy. I currently have relo's over there and they are ok.
All the guys from the CAAS were planning to go to Bali at this time and only now we are thankfull that the trip was cancelled. This only happened because I went to England otherwise we would have been in the Sari club and Paddy's nitclubs when the bomb exploded.
I know from experience that the Sari and Paddy's are the 2 main places for Australians to meet. There will be many injured and there will be many that dont get thru. I sympathise with those during this terrible situation.

Memo for PW. Islam is a religion, it is NOT a nationality. Many people who have Australian heritage going back hundreds of years are Islamic, would you deport those people too simply based on their religion.
On that basis we should get rid of all Catholics and Protestents because of what happened in Northan Ireland.
And by the way the Islamic religion deplores any form of violence.
There are extremists in every walk of life, including people whom claim to be religious.
Why do you assume this was an attack on Australia, maybe it was an attack on Indonesia's economy by Indonesions and has nothing to do with Australia, sadly it just happens to be in a place that Australians frequent.
Are you sure you are not Stan Zamanic in disguise.

The bombing of innocent individuals in Bali is clearly abhorrent to all right thinking people and my thoughts are with all of those people who were somehow affected.
My deepest sympathy also goes to the people of Bali who only ever wanted to rip the rest of us off in the friendliest possible manner and will now find their way of life forever altered, The change in the way of life in Bali will typify the loss of our world as it used to be.
Whatever the cause of this disaster and whoever is responsible, please remember that this is a footy forum and political comment is not appropriate. I'm not asking you to ignore the motivation or consequences of the disaster just to make your comments in the appropriate place - and that's not here.
I have edited several of the posts in this topic and completely removed others and will continue to do that.

Fradam, hope your friend is ok...thoughts and prayers are with you.
My friend and I booked a trip to Bali last week. Would've been there now, except she's a school teacher so couldn't get the time off. We are booked to be there mid-January...not sure now what to do. Not even sure if our hotel is still standing!

i live in student housing here in darwin with 300 other drunken insomniacs. at any one time there are probably 5-20 mates in bali given its so close. all but 2 have now been accounted for with several having been on the street outside when the blasts occured. some have minor injuries and another has 2nd and 3rd degree burns to much of her body. planes have been overhead constantly bringing the injured to darwin for treatment.please spare a thought for those still waiting for a phone call and delay your political rantings.

You and Joel posted at the same time, he wasn't responding to you, in fact he hadn't even seen your post, he was just adding a comment to Ramjet21's post.
Please see my response to you here:

Good on you Peter for falling on your sword.
As an australian of long heratige I should be outraged by what has happened, and in a way I am but...
As a husband of a french born australian, who has a french mother but an Italian father, therefore an Italian surname, I strongly disagree with your attempt to paint all Muslims with the "terrorist" brush.
It's not true, it never was and never will be.
I've heard the stories from my wife and her brothers and sisters and parents about how small minded australians like yourself treated them when they arrived on theses shores.
If the refugees from oppression that are arriving now are treated like they were, then I'm damn ashamed to be an aussie.
Yes. there are "extremists", like all political/religious organizations around the world have, but they are a MINORITY!
Good luck on your trip Peter, it'll be an eye-opener for you I'm sure.
For me, I'll be glad to see the back of you.
