It wasn't a mistake, I prefer the studio version, the sounds a lot cleaner and the tempo better than the live version.
The original clip in an Arizona bone-yard is a great metaphorical setting for this song.

EDIT...
OOOPS, I can be dense sometimes.
Yes I did double link the same clip (by mistake) but I thought you meant I posted the same clip as Wpt.

I wasn't a huge fan of Tom Petty either but I did buy Damn the Torpedoes on tape.

Johnny Cash does I Wont Back Down.

Solitary Man, one of my favourite songs. He could cover almost any song and make it his own.

I like the Cash man, but try this version of Solitary man by HIM. My fav, turn it up.

Johnny Cash has lived a life that you can hear in his voice and is reflected in the choice of the cover versions he performs.

(I hope I've got this right but here is too versions of the same song,
Rusty cage, by Soundgarden and another by Johnny Cash.

He was one of the best cover artists there was. Some songs (such as the above) are better known for his cover than the original.

To clarify, that's my fav version of the song and yeah, HIM. Finish rock band. I like some of their stuff. Symbolised by the Heartagram that they have trademarked.

Boy, was that a brilliant album. Sounded like the Byrds on steroids. Refugee, Here Comes My Girl, Even the Losers, Shadow of a Doubt, You Tell Me, Louisiana Rain etc. All killer songs - and I never really forgave him for being able to sing them all so high. And such a tight band. Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench were magnificent - and extraordinary in concert, too, when they came out a couple of years later. I remember someone put the cassette in my hands, telling me I had to hear it - I listened to it once, blown away, from the opening crash, and then just listened over and over again, driving, for about 16 hours straight because it was obvious that every band everywhere worth its salt was going to have to be able to cover about half of those songs for the next 3 years.

Lately it's been Arthur & Village Green by the Kinks but having just learned of Glenn Cornick's passing Sad I'll be indulging in some early Jethro Tull for a while.
