Sandy, Swarb and the Boy Wonder at their peak.

Apart from the brilliant singing and playing, Tam Lin is just one hell of a story.

How about that - there's an entire website devoted to the Tam Lin ballad! Great stuff.

If anyone cares, this is from Liege and Lief, one of the greatest albums ever made. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liege_%26_Lief

From the same album, Matty Groves - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QUSp0-UArA

And the most instant classic traditional folk song of all-time (actually written by the Boy Wonder and Swarb): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFxf8DJb42k

Here's the rest of Liege and Lief:

Come All Ye: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Id-uy--H8tQ

The Deserter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-ezy2WaM24

Reynardine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3RMut_8IxQ

And the instrumental medley: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N-neipG-7w

As Frithios Konkas commented on the medley: "This gives me so joyful feelings so I want to run all the way to Britain and join them."

My cuz has joined a new band. A real one this time. Genre much more his speed than the celtic punk and the rubbish he was doing with the sort of band fter that. Have a read and a listen, he's the bass player.

They've filmed a music vid for it, once it's released I'll share it but here's one from 12 months ago before he joined them. Actually looks quite professional. Shocked

Good on him. Look forward to hearing him play.

Try this then, The video clip for the single has just been released.

Just got to listen to it, now. I think that link is dead (or else I can't see it because I'm not on facebook or whatever) but this one works for me: https://asarival.bandcamp.com/

The drumming is very good, the singer projects well and it is well-produced. I can see this being very popular. It's not really to my taste because the guitarist doesn't do anything much and I don't really get the point of guitar music without a guitar hero. For me, it's like footy without a star full-forward. But it's very well done (like Nirvana - but just a little, only played with skill) and I hope they go a long way. I know that my view is old-fashioned and irrelevant (the target audience is not upper-class women over 60!!! - as to which, see Swoop's poll), so it won't hold them back. Wink
