Oh, go and listen to some Stravinsky and leave us hipsters alone. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

You proffer a link to something that sounds like it's been conceived, written and performed in somebody's toilet and then have the nerve to criticise my taste?

Not criticising! I think Stravinsky's okay. But I'm not crazy about hair metal I have to confess. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Tame Impala's earlier stuff was better, but I suspect you'd probably hate it just as much:

I didn't hate it. It's a bit tedious, I suppose, but mostly it just sounds like kids who can't quite play any of their instruments having a go in a music store.
Listening to the earlier album, I can see why the Beatles references are made (the singer was obviously scared by John Lennon at an early age) but why anyone would refer to it as "futuristic" is beyond me. |

Ligeti's Lux Aeterna
Beauty out of chaos - or chaos out of beauty - one or the other (or both).
I'm actually listening to the London Sinfonietta Voices recording but I can't find it on youtube. This version, though, is very beautiful, too:

Just a random sequence of thoughts and a bottle of red sent me to Yellow river.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGoHQ7c5I2I
I'm not sure what the next link was but then it was the ode to the Marshall Amp. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uxkDXXGt80 and I found myself bopping in the chair. I now also realise where I learnt my dancing. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |
