SPRING RACING CARNIVAL

I know this aint about footy but i know many people on Nicks love Horse racing and it is the start of the most important part of the horse racing season.

So i would be interested to see everyones thoughts on some of the major races

Epsom (This Saturday): Defier is the obvious choice (has to be ridden perfectly though) but i also like Gordo (comes home like a steam train), Hey Pronto and Zabarra (up and coming horse to be ridden by Michael Rodd)

Turnball Stakes : Fields of Omagh (I love that horse)

Caufield Cup : Northerly (such a street fighter) or Fields of Omagh

Cox Plate : Northerly or Defier or Universal Prince

Melb Cup : Rain Gauge (reminds me of Brew) County Tyrone or Pugin

For sentimental reasons i would love to see Universal Prince and Republic Lass do well this Spring

might be going to emirates stakes day. any tips?

Pretty and intelligent what more could you ask for ??

I think im going to Caufield Guineas, Caufield Cup, Derby Day, Sandown Classic, Cox Plate, and maybe Emirates Stakes Day

JLC I love the carnival and with the magpies having September action this year I have been too preoccupied to study the form. I'll check it out this weekend and see what I can make of it.

Well if you are going to lose money I suppose you could do worse than losing it to a girl that looks like Kathyn Read. And in other ways than on the horses too.

For my mind, I always go for the bookie with the best odds, not bods. But when you go to the races with JLC you spend a lot of time hanging around near Ms. Read's stall.
