Say they get a couple of weeks each as with Clokey, can they serve the time in the Preseason Comp and then be ready for the start of the season. This used to happen before but I am not sure if they have changed the rules or not?

I know it's not very sportsman-like, but I wish they'd thumped the bar@$#ds harder, really wish someone had taken Aker out or made his head hurt for a few weeks at any rate. I was sure that suspensions had to be served during the actual season. Does anyone think the AFL will scrutinze the Lions as they have the Pies, I'm sure I could find a few incidences I thought were worthy of trip to the tribunal. Then again that would be too fair now wouldn't it.

afl changed it so any suspension has to be served during H&A games, or in the case of multiple week suspensions, at least some of it has to be served then. im staggered burnsy has been reported for the tickle he gave brown. they must be trying to justify the cloke decision but if burns goes, so should johnson on fraser. licka will get 4.

If they're guilty, the tribunal will throw the book at them. I think Grand Final offences are viewed more seriously than offences in other matches ... even though the hypocritical bastards reckon they didn't look at the calendar when they stitched up Clokey.

In the days leading up to the GF, the AFL issued a warning to all players that anyone reported in the GF WILL face harsher than usual penalties.
If the AFL stands by this, both Licca and Monty will be watching the opening 2003 games from the stands.

I agree with Rowdy. I reckon Aker should have been hit harder than he was. Man,to think I used to like this player.
Any news on Laidley? Is he going to coach somewhere else?

We're all still hurting from this year's Grand Final so not much thought is being given to the 2003 season.
Still, Clokey will miss the first match and if Burnsie and Lica miss the first 2 or 3, we could be off to a rocky start.

someone said somewhere that "its a grand final and u damn well go hard!"
this is so true, so if anything, they should be more lenient on them, not that they will of course, typical afl, farked in the head.
cant leave a good thing alone.

Okay, so the boys were suspended in the 2002 season but are serving their suspensions in the 2003 season - does that make them ineligible for the 2003 Brownlow???
