ok
everyone, including me, has very high expectations this year. we have recruited well into an already emerging and well tested list.
but we have a tougher draw than last year, possibly some friction with bucks (maybe, speculation) and some of the stars of 09 are a year older, (looks at presti), not to mention the ongoing inconsistentcy of some players, esp ina young list.
So what happens if instead of us taking all before us, we only do so so in NAB cup, maybe dip out in first round and are as we were going into anzaz day this year. limping in and maybe we dont smash the bombers like we all expect and demand this year.
Given the draw it is possible. We could realistically be 1-3 going into anzac and its not impossible we drop that game as we did this year.

1. yes, entirely possible. worst case would be 0-4.
2. after the round 1 nab cup loss to st kilda.
3. i'd like to think we will not have to suffer a similar experience and win it well. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

With such a tough draw and a young list, we will be lucky to finish Top 6. I'll be satisfied to sneak in to the 8. 2011 is the year... _________________ Est. 2002 |

I still predict we will be 3-2 after 5 games.
We will beat Melbourne and Essendon, I am willing to lay big money on that (and probably will ), while I can't see us losing all 3 games to Hawthorn, StKilda and the Dogs.
If I had to pick one, I'd say the Dogs, Barry Hall is Presti's bitch, so that won't worry us, and we beat them in the only game that counted last year.
We match up well with dogs now, they aren't as fast as they used to be.
Also, Hawthorn's defense is very weak, and for once we can contest with them for first hands on the ball.
My estimation is 3-2, but my hope is 4-1, or even 5-0, as I believe we will be good enough to beat anyone, especially early on with a strong, fit list. |

Speaking on the Centre formally known as Lexus, is there any news as to the new naming sponsor?
Hope Eddie was able to prevail and not accept the 'Sydney Crazy John' (forget the name) because we need a class naming sponsor for our home. Perhaps Emirates will up their contribution? Any news out there? _________________ After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!

which game was that, we lost our crucial round 22 game that would have given us geelong in the first round of the finals.
Hawthorn is a big ? this year.
Were they a flash in the pan with their flag or did they simply have a bad year and will return to where they shud b this year. _________________ "If everybody agrees, then somebody isn't thinking."

Look if we can't beat the Saints, Hawks & Dogs then we aren't a genuine premiership threat anyway. Yes we will lose our share in the mix of a tough draw, but we will mix it with the top sides this year & become one ourselves.
Let them fear us not the other way around. |

Yeah, seeing as playing Geelong was such an advantage over playing StKilda.
Both sides knew it didn't matter who you played in the first week of the finals, because the odds were you would have to beat both of them to win the flag anyway.
Round 22 was a fizzer, didn't mean anything, we beat the Doggies when it counted, in the thriller. |

^ Correct weight woftam.
I'm tipping Hawthorn to make a big resurgence. They've lost Croad but gained Josh Gibson and Shaun Burgoyne. Last year they were decimated by injury. If Lance Franklin, Jarryd Roughead, Cyril Rioli and Luke Hodge are fit, they will be very, very difficult to stop. _________________ "The greatest thing that could happen to the nation is when we get rid of all the media. Why, prey tell would there be any friction with Bucks?
Bucks asked MnM how He felt about taking over before He committed to Coaching the mighty Pies in two Years Time.
The apprentice has nothing But respect for the master so I can't see where ANY friction would come from.
Except from Fish'n'Chip wrappers like the Hun and Inside Football!
You can bet your bottom Dollar there will be NO "3 minutes of madness" on ANZAC Day 2010. The shame and humiliation of last year will still be fresh in their minds when we play those twats in RednBlack this Year!
Prediction....
ANZAC Day 2010,
Collingwood.. 25.5.155
Essendon? .... 0.10.10
With the retiremnet of LLoyd & Lucas, they are still in the hanger,... looking for something to drop, (other than their guts)!
Another Prediction 2,
Something is rotten at Moorabin! So many players wanting out is NOT a recipe for a success! Saints, bottom 8, at best!
Squawk-thawn, are the dark horse this year.
Can they play the "un-sociable" type football that won them the flag?

geelong in the first week as opposed to geelong in the third week after a break is a big difference i think. _________________ "If everybody agrees, then somebody isn't thinking."
