I don't know enough about either character, but from what nerds on the internet say it'd be the other way around. Laughing

nah, Fate would cream him and The Spectre would destroy both without breaking a sweat.

My son made me watch it. It's set in the part of England my family apparently originally came from. He had to really push me as I told him I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than watch a movie about soccer but he persisted, I watched it and actually really enjoyed it.

Yeah it's violent but it's part of the story.

Watched an Ingmar Bergman double today.

Persona: Most of it takes place in a beachhouse with two women, one of whom is mute, so the other did all the talking. It was a bit of a chore to sit through the whole thing.

The Seventh Seal: Liked this one a lot more. It was both funny and profound. It also had an interesting cast of characters. It's worth checking out if you don't have subtitlephobia

Yeah, Persona is quite experimental. I'm a fan, but I can see why it would leave people cold. Glad you liked The Seventh Seal!

Went to the Cinematheque last night as part of the Robert Altman series.

Altman came to notice as a Hollywood director with the film MASH.

He used to write, direct & produce a lot of TV series before he got into film which included many episodes in the first season or two of "Combat!"

Those of us of a certain age grew up watching Combat! - I remember watching episodes with my dad when I was in primary school.

Combat!:

Last night they screened a particular episode called "Survival" (1963) - 46 minutes. Great stuff. He was sacked after making this episode

Shortcuts:

This was followed by Altman's 1993 star studded film Shortcuts (1993)

I was surprised to hear actual dialogue in the clip, I was expecting a silent film.

Ha de ha

Did you ever see Combat! ? It was a very popular series & I suspect "we" got it in Australia well after the series release in the US?

I sort of watched the latest Steve Seagull movie. There is at least 20 minutes of my life I can't get back. Special ops, don't bother.
